The festive season is well and truly here – and our diaries are getting action-packed already! To help you plan those Christmas calendars, here’s our ultimate round-up of what’s on for kids in Singapore this December, including all the Christmas concerts, shows, and events to get you in the holiday spirit! Get into the spirit of the season, mama!

Christmas Joy at Port of Lost Wonder

A Celebration of Christmas Joy

Christmas is extra special at our fave kids’ club by the beach because the kiddos have the chance to meet Santa Clause, Mrs Claus, and Santa’s hardworking family of elves and reindeers! As Santa’s newest little helpers, they’ll also get to have a sneak peak into Santa’s workshop, Rudolph’s backyard and Mrs Claus’ kitchen and have fun baking gingerbread and decorating Christmas cards… fun!

When: 21, 22 and 25 December 2013, 10am-6:30pm

Snow City’s Snow Show and World’s Biggest Snowman

Turn your white Christmas dreams into reality at Snow City this Chrissy, with their indoor festive playground that will make you feel like you’re right inside a blizzard (danger-free, of course!). You can also take the kids along to see the world’s biggest Snowman, and if you drop past on any Wednesday or weekend in December (until the 25th) you’ll also get to see the big man in red!

Wildlife Wonderland at Night Safari

Mystica at Night Safari

Get ready to whisk the kiddos into a wonderful world of fantastical creatures, magic and enchantment at Night Safari’s Mystica this December! Wear your most creative costume to the mysterious forest and let the little ones mingle with the whimsical denizens there. They can also have a magical makeover at the fluorescent face painting area or pop into the photo booth for a pic with mama and papa!

When: 13 to 14, 20 to 21 & 27 to 31 December 2013, 6:30-9:30pm

Celebrate Christmas at Universal Studios Singapore

Join Elmo and his friends from Sesame Street in this whimsical, all singing, all dancing stage show, where the wee ones can even get up close and personal and sing along to the feet-tapping tunes of ‘Our Favourite Things’ and ‘Dance with Bert and Ernie’. But that’s not all! Get ready to strike a pose with Elmo, shake hands with Oscar the Grouch or give Big Bird a hug — perfect for the family album!

When: 19 – 30 December 3, 10am -10pm

How much: Regular day admission $74 (adult); $54 (child); $36 (senior). Guests with day passes can stay until 10pm. Christmas evening tickets, $40 per person (valid for park admission after 6pm).

Christmas Wonderland at Marina Square Mall

Marina Square AR Winter Wonderland - Santa's Hut and playground with AR snowfall

Stepping into Marina Square’s transformed 3,500 sq ft atrium this Christmas will feel just like a visit to Santa’s village. Featuring Santa, his reindeers, sleighs, snowmen, penguins, toy soldiers and Santa’s hut  – all surrounding a magnificent ten-metre tall Christmas Tree – this is going to be one festive season of shopping and fun!

Christmas Wonderland at City Square Mall

Christmas is extra exciting (and eventful!) at City Square Mall this year with its Christmas Carnival in the Park extravaganza, where the kids will have a ball riding on the carousel and trying their luck at any of the game booths. There’s also a festive light show for the kiddies to enjoy, as well as snowy playtime (who says it doesn’t snow in Singapore?), and carolling… there’s something for everyone here!

Christmas Snow at Tanglin Mall

Gather around the grand Christmas tree and experience the magic of snow (in the tropics!) each night with Tanglin Mall’s annual Christmas wonderland. With life-size horses, reindeers, majestic carriages, and even Santa himself, the kids will go wild trudging through the “snow” and getting covered head to toe!

When: 23 November 2013 to 1 January 2014, 7:30-8pm weekdays, 7:30pm-8pm & 8:30pm-9pm weekends/public holidays

Christmas in the Tropics at the Forum 

Let the Princess of Christmas take your wee ones on a happy journey through the twelve days of Christmas in an energetic whirlwind of dance and celebration! Learn about the true meaning of friendshipfamily, joy, and laughter this holiday season through this interactive musical. The little ones can also lend try their hand at making wooden decorations in the Elves Workshop (until 17 December, 2pm daily) and meet Santa’s elves at the same time!

Meet Santa at Tanglin Mall

If your child just must tell Santa what they want for Christmas this year, then Tanglin Mall is the place to be, with Santa ready (and willing!) to take photos with the kids. He’ll be hanging around all month for pictures with the fam, and he’s definitely taking wish lists this year mama!

When: 22 November to 23 December 11am – 7pm, 24 December 11am – 4pm

Whimsical Christmas at Vivo City

Vivo Christmas Tree

Keen to take the kids to see one of the biggest Christmas trees in Singers? Then head to Vivo City — their 107ft tree has grown a foot every year since 2007! And if that’s not enough, see if the kids can spot the roving Santa Claus and his reindeer (they’ll be hanging around the mall every Saturday in December) or head down on 15 December (5-7pm) to listen to the Singapore Wind Symphony’s 20 piece Big Band Jazz Ensemble as they perform fun Christmas songs, with a side of children’s ballroom dancing… fun!

Iconic Spots

Christmas by the River

The Singapore River is getting a makeover this Christmas with lights and décor along its 3km precinct – it’s the perfect spot for a photo op or a stroll with the fam! Mamas and papas will also have a blast at the Christmas markets featuring artisanal gourmet items and festive goodies from around the world, while the kiddos keep themselves busy on the carnival rides and Christmas train.

Christmas Light Up on Orchard Road

Orchard Road’s Christmas Light Up is the place to be if you want to see loads of festive lights, and with this year’s theme, “Christmas on A Great Street” bringing a bit of nostalgic charm to our fave shopping strip (not to mention the nightly performances, parades, and Christmas displays), you’ll definitely find something that pleases the entire family here mama!

Marina Bay Sands Christmas Wonderland

For those craving a cold Christmas with the kids, you’ll want to head to Marina Bay Sand’s Skating Rink… it’s been transformed into a candy land filled with Christmas trees, jolly soldiers, Santa’s sleigh, treats and presents – there’s even a giant festive toy train! And if that’s not quite enough, there are also plenty of special live performances throughout December, with The Christmas Tale and Christmas Ballerina shows set to thrill the young ones.

‘The Christmas Tree Project’ at the Sentosa Boardwalk

The Christmas Tree Project on Sentosa Boardwalk

There’s Christmas trees a plenty at Sentosa this month, with 10 quirky Christmas trees designed by students from Temasek Polytechnic lining the Sentosa Boardwalk, and providing much eye candy for curious little ones. Made of unusual materials like chairs and soup ladles, these trees will be put up for “adoption” after Christmas, to help raise funds for Canosssaville Children’s Home.

Sentosa PLAYcation

With a ton of fun events for families this holiday season, Sentosa is the place to be if you want to see unconventional Christmas trees, live music performances and Sentosa’s 37 metre Merlion come to life with 3D video images projected onto its facade! There’ll also be plenty of creative handicrafts, kids pizza-making, and paper play, as well as the chance to make a Christmas wish at the Sentosa word block!

Christmas Carnival at the Singapore Flyer

The world’s largest (and much loved!) Giant Observation Wheel has been transformed into a fun-filled carnival this holiday season, with children’s rides, bumper cars, huge bouncy slides, and much more to keep the kids happy. The Flyer will also be offering ride packages for the entire fam to take a glimpse at Singapore’s gorgeous night view and Captain Flyer will be dropping by for photos will the kiddos – fun!

When: 28 November – 31 December

FunVee Christmas Light Up Tour

With so many Christmas lights and festive decorations to see in S’pore (but so little time!) jump on one of City Tours’ Christmas Light Up Tours and take a special ride down Orchard Road to see the lights! Traipsing the length from Tanglin Road to the Concorde Hotel, the kids will have a blast on this open top bus adventure!

Jazz Carols For All at St. George’s Church

Christmas at the Opera

The Kids [email protected] Orchestra will be showcasing a selection of music this Christmas that the kiddos are bound to love! From Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, La Boheme to the premiere of Winter Songs (composed by local composer Phoon Yew Tien), the entire family will be very pleased with a night of Christmas melodies.
