Christmas is one of our favourite times of the year. After all, there are Christmas fairs and markets with loads of fun for the whole fam, decorating the Christmas tree, and all the holiday feasting! But if there’s one thing that makes Christmas in the tropics extra special, it’s the prospect of seeing snow (even if it’s artificial!). Christmas lights and snow are big hits with the kiddos, so if you’d like to put a big smile on their faces this Christmas, why not take them to see some gorgeous Christmas lights and snow in Singapore? Here’s where to go!

1. Shiseido Forest Valley & Canopy Park @ Jewel
In the mood for a white Christmas? Enjoy snowfall at Shiseido Forest Valley and Canopy Park daily! The snowfall is available twice an hour between 6pm and 11pm from 19 November 2021 to 3 January 2022! Shiseido Forest Valley will be gated during these times but you can gain access in two easy ways. While you’re there, check out the Changi Festive Village, too!

Experience snow and Christmas lights at the stunning CHIJMES! Head to the mini pop up skating rink to experience snowfall. In addition to festive carols, CHIJMES will have an interactive backdrop where Christmas scenes will be projected daily against the iconic CHIJMES Hall.
When: 19 November 2021 – 2 January 2022, 7.30pm, 8pm, 8.30pm, 9pm & 9.30pm (each session will be around 5 minutes)

3. Capitol Singapore
Head over to Capitol Singapore to experience snow at the Outdoor Plaza. You can book a 30-minute snow play session in one of the snow play domes, where you’ll get to make snow angels and snap the cutest shots for the ‘Gram! Snow in the mini domes is synthetic snow whereas the snowfall at the Outdoor Plaza is fun foam. There’s also a super cute singing Christmas tree that’ll thrill the kids.

4. Christmas Wonderland
There won’t be snow in Singapore at Christmas Wonderland this year, but you can expect some of the most stunning Christmas lights. There are nine magical light displays – the stunning Spalliera is a particular highlight, inspired by the circular rose windows you’ll typically see in Gothic churches and cathedrals across Europe. There’s also the Walk of Stars, which is made up of thousands of programmable star-shaped LED lights, and the 7.7m-tall Enchanted Bridge display, with a surrounding area that’s illuminated by 100,000 LED lights. 5. Orchard Road Christmas Light-up
Christmas on a Great Street 2021 is themed Christmas in Bloom and will feature a range of immersive experiences that utilise Augmented Reality (AR) tech and key design elements that are inspired by the richness of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The decorations will also draw design cues from the interiors of ribbed vault architecture, which is believed to emit a feeling of being safe, particularly in the time of Covid. PS: In case you were wondering, there’s no snow at Tanglin Mall this year! But you will find a magical 10-metre Christmas Tree at the start of the Christmas lights along Orchard Road though.

6. Snow at Rainforest Lumina
Want to see snow at the Singapore Zoo? Check out Rainforest Lumina then! Snowfall here is available only on selected days, but there are plenty of magical activities your child will love – think Christmas workshops, stunning light displays, Insta-worthy spaces for the perfect holiday shot and more!

7. Snow City Singapore
Snow City‘s ever-popular snowfall and blizzard experience is one of the few places offering snow on the daily! Book a two-hour play session to play with snowballs, see ice sculptures, ride snow tubes and have plenty of winter fun. You can also check out their new Ice Hotel that stretches across a 17-metre snowfield within Snow City. There are five thematic ice and snow art zones, and while the kids play, mum and dad can enjoy craft beers at the Ice Bar.

8. Trees of the World 2021
This fun, community-led event is always a great place to go for pretty Christmas lights. Trees of the World will have a range of trees on display, decorated for the holidays by donors, beneficiaries and members of the public. After Christmas, the trees will be planted in Singapore’s various nature reserves, parks and gardens in support of NParks’ OneMillionTrees movement.
When: 4 December 2021 – 2 January 2022, 7pm – midnight daily
