Lucy Sparkles & Friends: Music Playgroups in multiple locations

Playgroup for: Newborns and up
Lucy Sparkles & Friends provides outstanding Drama, Music and Dance classes and parties for young children living in Singapore, Australia, England and Italy. They offer private classes for pre-schools and for small groups in homes, as well as public classes all over Singapore! Lessons are fun and educational, and are linked to the UK government’s EYFS practice guidelines while employing both Kodály and Dalcroze principles. Whilst no two lessons are the same, Lucy Sparkles & Friends applies the same fun, thoughtful and tested structure to each weekly playgroup session in order to establish a comfortable and friendly environment for children. Les Oliviers: Montessori Playgroup in Bukit Timah

Playgroup for: 2 months to 2 years
Les Oliviers’s Montessori, You & Me is an accompanied programme that welcomes babies and their caregivers to discover Montessori philosophy. Run by a Montessori-trained educator, the programme’s main goal is to provide little ones with a safe, beautiful and prepared environment. During playgroup hours, they’ll work with Montessori materials that aid in developing their fine and gross motor skills, concentration and curiosity. The caregiver – be it you or your helper – will get to spend quality time with bub, observe them in a state of development and see the approach at work first-hand.
Little Bunnies: Outdoor Playgroup in One-north

Playgroup for: 18 months to 4 years
Tucked away in a garden setting, Little Bunnies is a green-thinking and doing preschool that provides little ones with experiential learning in a natural, aircon-free environment. The preschool does away with the traditional classroom setting; instead, children spend an hour outside each in the garden, trying out various activities such as nature trails and gardening to watercolour painting and playing in the outdoor kitchen. There are even woven bamboo houses for imaginary play, a small pond with fish and tadpoles and plenty of grass for games and simply having fun. These baby classes allow children to hone their creativity and thrive, as they’ll enjoy communal painting and model-making while working through numerous sensory tubs that also shape their fine motor skills. Mosaic Play Academy: Parent-accompanied & Drop-off Playgroups in Joo Chiat
Playgroup for: 6 months – 6 years old
Mosaic Play Academy offers a parent-accompanied playgroup for 6 – 15 months (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am/ 10:30am, 75-minute sessions), 16 – 24 months (daily, 8:30am – 10:30am) and a drop-off playgroup for kids 2 – 6 years old (daily, 9am – 12pm, Tuesday and Thursday sessions in Mandarin). The curriculum is centred around the development of the whole child using a multi-sensory approach. Little ones will have a huge amount of fun learning through hands-on, exploration and play which will foster a love for learning in the process. The curriculum is planned to be explorative in nature, for children to discover, be independent and engage in social interaction. There’s a focus on the environment and kids get to spend time outdoors to foster this appreciation. Children will be engaged in movement, dramatisation, open-ended free play and exercising their imagination. For parents who would like to engage their children with some afternoon activities, Mosaic Play Academy also has Kids Club – fun two-hour sessions (3 – 5pm) for 2 to 6-year-olds. There’ll be creative art, music&movement, play storytelling, nature play and other fun activities to keep children occupied. Our own little ones adored their classes at Marsden and haven’t wanted to get out of the water since!

Practically a must-visit for parents-to-be and new mamas, Mother & Child offers all sorts of prenatal classes, newborn parenting classes, and drop-in well-baby clinics at its Tanglin location. You’ll also find first aid and infant massage classes for parents, helpers, and babies; yoga for pregnant women and new mamas; and postnatal classes for mamas and babies! And we haven’t even mentioned their legendary lactation specialists!
Mucky Pups: Parent-accompanied Music & Dance Playgroups
Playgroup for: Babies 6-14 months & toddlers aged 1-3
This weekly 45-minute accompanied playgroup (parents and helpers both welcome!) is a super-fun creative outlet for little ones, with everything from circle time, to singing, dancing, storytime, games, and lots of awesome art projects. These playgroups with sensory and messy play are great for exploratory learning with bubbles, songs, and music. Conveniently held at different indoor playgrounds around Singapore, each playgroup session has a different theme. Mucky Pups is led by a former preschool teacher and trained artist. We love that the first playgroup is at an affordable trial price and reasonably priced at about $30 per class thereafter (with no long-term commitment; just pay as you go)!
