The National Day Parade (NDP) on 9 August 2022 will be open to the public this year as Singapore celebrates its 57th year since independence! Here’s what we know so far about NDP 2022 and National Day fireworks

National Day 2022 is gonna be big! Almost every seat at the Marina Bay floating platform is expected to be completely filled on 9 August 2022. NDP 2022 is set to be massive compared to the previous two years during the pandemic – this year, we are expecting the venue’s capacity to max out at 25,000 to 26,000 pax! National Education shows for Primary 5 pupils will return, as well as two ticketed previews. Themed “Stronger Together, Majulah!”, NDP 2022 coincides with the 55th anniversary of national service, which will be referenced throughout the parade and show.

The National Day Parade is back! After having to postpone the parade last year due to the pandemic, the National Day Parade returns this year on 9 August 2022 at the Floating Platform. Hosted by Joakim Gomez, Sonia Chew, Siti Khalijah and Rishi Budhrani, this year’s National Day Parade will embody the theme ‘Stronger Together, Majulah!’. In two parts, the National Day Parade 2022 will also pay tribute to our National Serviceman as the Singapore National Service will also celebrate its 55th anniversary this year.

The National Day Parade 2022 will also see the return of many favourite moments, from the flag fly-by to the Red Lions to the NDP fireworks! If you’d rather not brave the crowds, tune in to any of the Mediacorp channels (Channel 5, Okto, Suria, Channel 8, Vasantham Central and Channel News Asia) from 5:45pm to watch the celebrations up close, without having to jostle for space. During the fireworks finale, simultaneous firework displays will be set off in the heartland areas. If you’d like to watch the NDP fireworks in town, we’ve got a great list of places you can catch it all for free!
