For your everyday essentials
Your go-to supermarket for all your shopping needs; depending on which store you go to, some tend to have more variety than others. Our fave is their Great World City location – it’s huge and has a fantastic section of health conscious and allergy friendly products.

The more international version of good ol’ Fairprice, you’ll find a good selection of international brands at competitive prices. We love their Bukit Timah Plaza location as it has a good balance of local and international brands – just be warned mama that it’s often packed on weekends and its location means it can be tricky getting a taxi home.

If you’re looking for wholesale goods (especially fresh seafood!)
Whilst these gems might not be located in the centre of town, it’s still worth the hike to pick up some fabulous bargains!
Located at 1 Fishery Port Road (we realise it’s a bit of a hike, mama!) these guys are one of the biggest food distribution companies in S’pore, and while they used to open their doors to the public on Saturday mornings (sadly their Saturday operation closed back in March), chefs-in-the-making can still pick up their wholesale food goods (you’ll find everything from frozen foods, to pantry staples and even some fruit and veg) on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 3 and 5pm.
1 Fishery Port Road, Jurong, Singapore 619729

Located in the quiet neighbourhood enclave of Greenwood Ave, this fish market is unique because you can either buy your fish fresh to prepare at home, or have their chef cook it for you to eat in their bistro (located just a few doors away). Open every day (except Mondays) from 11am to 10pm, this neighbourhood favourite specialises in coldwater fish and seafood from Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US.

Jurong Fishery Port
Although these fishmongers are open throughout the day, a super early visit (we’re talking about a visit between 2am and 4am, mamas!) to no. 35 Fishery Port Road is warranted if you want the freshest catch of the day. Be warned though, you can’t buy in small quantities (think bulk and stock up the freezer or share with your mama friends!), and you’ll need to wear suitable footwear (splish splosh!). Don’t forget your ID either so you can exchange it for an entry pass at the guard post. Open everyday except Mondays.

Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre
Not the most kid-friendly place in town, this wholesale centre is packed with a huge variety of fresh fruit and vegetables sold at fantastic prices! Well worth the morning trek, this is where the other market stall owners go to pick their offerings. Between the actual trucks and the warehouses there are several uncles and aunties selling smaller quantities of the fresh stuff at teeny tiny prices. We definitely recommend picking up some super fresh mangoes and pineapples when you’re here – divine!
