Online shopping’s where it’s at for bulky, heavy purchases but it still feels like you have to supplement with trips to the butcher, the wet market and other specialist stores to get everything you need…
Did you know that RedMart has increased its offering of fresh and frozen products – as well as expanding their baby products and exclusive offerings like the Sainsbury’s and Rascal + Friends Diapers ranges – to make it possible for you to get everything you need in one stop, WITHOUT having to set foot outside?
RedMart & Lazada
A longtime online shopping favourite, RedMart can now be found easily via the Lazada app, and still offers those convenient 2-hour delivery windows plus over 175,000 products! For those who haven’t already signed up for LiveUp membership, you can take advantage of free delivery for orders over $40, a 4% rebate on purchases, plus exclusive member promotions on RedMart. The savings to be had here are definitely worthwhile! And while RedMart is your go-to for all grocery and household needs, Lazada does everything from party decorations, to electrical goods like rice cookers, to skincare and beauty products from brands such as Philosophy, MAC and Innisfree.
RedMart Private Label
There are now over 350 items in RedMart’s Private Label collection, and they all adhere to strict quality guidelines. All products are free from artificial colours, flavours and MSG – for instance, the RedMart vanilla bean ice cream is actually made from vanilla beans, not the cheaper artificial flavouring which, frankly, fools no one! For those concerned about sustainability – and who isn’t these days?! – know that RedMart is committed to supporting responsibly and sustainably sourced products. All canned tuna products are line-and pole-caught; beef (from Australia and NZ) is 100% grass-fed and antibiotic free; and all their suppliers for palm oil related products are part of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, while their coffee capsules are 100% biodegradable.
Packaging & Sustainability
RedMart is constantly looking for innovative ways to minimise the amount of packaging involved in delivering your groceries. But while you can take your own bags to the store and pack things as you see fit, RedMart adheres to strict guidelines around food safety. Bags are packed based on each item’s food safety risk category – so you’ll never find food and non-food items packed together, and meat, fresh fruit and vegetables will always be packed separately. On average, their cardboard cartons are used 2-3 times before disposal, and RedMart’s plastic bags are oxo-biodegradable, which means that they can be recycled by putting them in the blue recycling bins provided by the NEA. Customers can return the cartons and plastic bags to RedMart delivery representatives, and leave them with RedMart to reuse, repurpose or recycle them. You can read more about the use of plastic bags here.
