This is the newest player on the online grocery scene, having only launched in late July 2017, but it’s sure to be a biggie. We covered what we liked and didn’t like in our initial review: on the plus side you get free 2-hour delivery with a $40 spend, prices are competitive, and there’s a wide selection of non-grocery items like toys, homewares and school supplies. On the downside you can only order via phone app, the grocery selection is disappointingly limited (not even and organic section), and the overall inventory still pales in comparison to what you’d find on the real Amazon. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that these will resolve themselves in the months to come, mama!
Looking for an ethical yet premium quality alternative to your groceries, mama? Straits Market supports sustainable farming, traceability, hormone- and antibiotic-free produce, harvesting according to order and a farm-to-table approach. After a successful search for other farms locally and in neighbouring countries that share the same philosophy, this online grocer is now able to bring fresh produce straight to your doorstep, with essentials such as responsibly-farmed fish, organic beef, organic vegetables and more.

Ordering from Singapore’s very own organic farm makes it feel like you’re ordering from your own local farmer! Growing mostly Asian greens, fruits and herbs, we also love their condiments and imported spreads and grains, all really inexpensive and a convenient way to get wholesome, organic food into the family diet. You can also show your littlies how their food is grown by bringing them down to the farm for a fun family day out (it’s best to call ahead to organise a time).

They also have a store within walking distance from Great World City, so if you’re in the area you can drop by to shop in person.
As one of Singapore’s biggest online supermarkets, if it’s not fresh or frozen you’ll most likely find what you’re looking for here. While we may not eat huge amounts of canned foods ourselves, we love this store for ordering those heavy items that are a pain to drag home, especially when you’ve also got a baby and pram to contend with! Ideal for bulk orders, RedMart makes it easy to order a supply of laundry detergent, cleaning products, toilet paper and nappies and have them delivered straight to your door. Easy peasy!

These guys pride themselves on delivering high quality organic produce that is carefully sourced from Australian suppliers and delivered fresh to your door. Here you’ll find a great selection of super fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as other pantry staples like cereals, flours, tea and coffee and oils. If you want to add a splash of excitement to the weekly shop, order one of their fruit and veg boxes – whilst you generally can’t select everything that will be included (that’s the excitement mama!) you can request for certain disliked veg to be left out. We’ve ordered a box before and had to say we were most impressed with their huge head of kale – we might even go so far as to say it’s the best kale in Singapore!

If your family loves snacking on fruit, you’ll definitely want to check out this shop that specialises in fresh, in-season and handpicked fruits; this fruit-only store stocks only the best quality produce, mama. Whilst many kids frown at their greens, fruit can be an easy way to get nutrients into them (it’s the sweet flavour that they really love). Try making your own green shakes at home by blending together fruit with a bit of spinach. They won’t taste the greens, plus it nourishes their body and is so yummy. Order online if you’d prefer to save a trip out of the house.
Tangy Tangerines, Pasar Bella at The Grandstand, 200 Turf Club Road, Singapore 287994, www.tangytangerines.sg
This cute little store is definitely worth a visit, if only for the little playhouse with toys – perfect for keeping the littlies happy whilst you shop! We’re kind of nerds about sustainable seafood, and this awesome seafood shop is one of the only places we know in Singapore where you can get yourself wild-caught salmon (for more about the benefits of wild vs. farmed salmon, click here). The shop is actually run by some former Alaskan fishermen (just like the guys on The Deadliest Catch!); you can also nab yourself fabulous King Crab, Cod, Halibut, Shrimp and other regional products.
$20 delivery fee applies for orders below $200.
