Things to do at Hay Dairies Goat Farm: Goat milking session & feed the goats

Visiting Hay Dairies Goat Farm almost feels like stepping into a countryside you never knew existed in Singapore! Tucked away in Lim Chu Kang, near Kranji MRT, Hay Dairies Goat Farm is part of the cluster of animal farms in the area. But it stands out as Singapore’s one and only goat farm that’s open for public visits. Established in 1988 with just 48 goats, Hay Dairies Goat Farm has grown to house over 800 goats in three-storey barns today! We recommend arriving early, right at opening time, so you can catch the goat milking session, which usually takes place between 9am and 10:30am.
Visitors can join free-and-easy tours at Hay Dairies Goat Farm, where you’ll get to meet the goats, chat with dairy farm staff, watch the live goat milking session, feed the goats and even sample freshly produced goat milk. There’s also a little shop selling goat-themed souvenirs, including handmade goat’s milk soap! Fun fact: Hay Dairies Goat Farm is the only dairy farm in Singapore that produces fresh goat milk, churning out an impressive 900 to 1,000 litres every single day!
Goat Milking Sessions at Hay Dairies Goat Farm
Arrive early at Hay Dairies Goat Farm to catch the morning goat milking sessions that happen daily from 9am to 10:30 am! Watch as fresh goat milk is harvested, and if you’re lucky, you might even get a little playful squirt! These sessions also give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at how Hay Dairies Goat Farm operates and how their famous goat milk is carefully processed.
Feed the goats

What’s a farm visit in Singapore without a feeding session? At Hay Dairies Goat Farm, the goat barns and feeding areas are open daily from 9am to 4pm. Simply purchase a bundle of Alfalfa Hay for $5, and you’re ready to feed the goats! Don’t worry, they won’t bite, but they can get a little greedy and might try to snatch the food right from your hands! So be sure to keep a watchful eye on your little ones during the feeding sessions.
Chat with the workers at Hay Dairies Goat Farm
During our visit, we could really see that the dairy farm workers at Hay Dairies Goat Farm are high-key goat lovers and passionate about their job. Curious about what the goats eat, how milking works, or how Hay Dairies Goat Farm keeps its goats happy and healthy? Just strike up a chat with the staff. They’re always ready to spill the (goat) tea!

Family tips for visiting Hay Dairies Goat Farm in Singapore

A visit to Hay Dairies Goat Farm should take no more than half a day, and – we say this a lot – come early for the best experience! The dairy farm is partially sheltered, so it can get a little humid. Pack hats, sunscreen, a portable fan and even mosquito patches to stay comfortable. And don’t forget an umbrella, just in case it rains!
We also recommend packing a water bottle since there aren’t any water coolers on-site, and be ready with cash if you want to grab some fresh goat milk from the farm shop. There are toilets available, but no baby changing facilities, so a portable mat is a must if you’ve got a little bub in tow. Plus, as Hay Dairies Goat Farm is located in Lim Chu Kang, there are limited dining options nearby, so pack along some snacks if you’re feeling peckish.
