Founded by a crocodile enthusiast, Long Kuan Hung Crocodile Farm was created as a safe and sustainable environment for breeding and raising crocodiles. Today, it stands as Singapore’s last remaining crocodile farm, dedicated to conservation and sustainability. Beyond farming for meat and leather, this animal farm in Singapore also participates in breeding programs and supports research efforts to help protect these prehistoric creatures for future generations.

Long Kuan Hung Crocodile Farm Singapore is home to a variety of crocodile species, including the saltwater crocodile – the largest living reptile on Earth! The saltwater crocodile here is an impressive 60 years old and over 5 meters long! When we joined the farm tour, the guide mentioned that we couldn’t spot it because of the rain, such a shame!

There are also several rare and near-extinct breeds that you can see. On the guided farm tour, you’ll get up close with these fascinating creatures, as well as other water reptiles like alligators, caimans, and gharials. Keep an eye out for Oreo, a 40-year-old rescued crocodile who’s so overweight that his neck is completely hidden! According to the farm tour guide, he’s currently on a weight-loss programme!

You can also witness the crocodiles at every stage of development – from eggs to hatchlings to full-grown adults. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a live hatchling breaking out of its shell!

During the guided tour, you’ll also catch the crocodiles in action at the crocodile feeding show, where they battle for some raw chicken. Okay, maybe it’s not that dramatic, but we guarantee there’s at least a bit of action! If you’re feeling brave, you can even try feeding them yourself!

Know before you go:

While there are toilet facilities at the crocodile farm, there are no dedicated baby changing rooms. We recommend bringing a portable changing mat in case your little one needs a nappy change. Also, as there aren’t any water coolers on-site, be sure to pack a large water bottle to stay hydrated! There are drinks available for sale near the entrance, along with some snacks if you get a little peckish.

Also, keep in mind that there are no F&B options at Long Kuan Hung Crocodile Farm Singapore, so make sure to grab a meal before your visit or pack some snacks to keep you going. Just remember – snacks are for you, not the crocs!

What to pack:

Each guided farm tour at Long Kuan Hung Crocodile Farm typically lasts about one hour, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes for all the walking! Strollers aren’t allowed in certain areas due to the narrow lanes, so a carrier would be a more convenient option.

Since the farm is outdoors, be sure to pack your outdoor essentials like sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, water bottles, insect repellent, and of course, an umbrella just in case it rains. And for the little ones, don’t forget to pack a few snacks to keep those smiles on throughout the crocodile farm tour!

If “Trying crocodile meat” or “Trying crocodile oil” has been on your bucket list, then you’re in the right place. Though crocodile meat wouldn’t be our first choice for protein, you can find it here if you’re curious. The farm tour at Long Kuan Hung Crocodile Farm comes with a bowl of herbal soup with real crocodile meat after your tour. And don’t worry, it’s fully licensed by the Singapore Food Agency, so it’s completely safe to consume.

We were told that crocodile meat is high in protein, low in fat, and packed with Omega-3 fatty acids, making it a surprisingly healthy protein. Though, do take note that crocodile meat is not halal. The farm also sells a variety of frozen crocodile meat at affordable prices, including crocodile flank meat, crocodile tail meat, crocodile loin bone, and crocodile meat bone.
