1. CapitaSpring: Sky garden on Level 51

If you work in the heart of the CBD area, you’ll be happy to know that you’re not far from two stunning green spaces at CapitaSpring: Green Oasis and 1-Arden Sky Garden. Green Oasis is a vertical garden that occupies four storeys and features spaces to rest among lush greenery. For an even better view, head to 1-Arden Sky Garden to take a stroll among the thriving greenery as you enjoy sky-high views of Marina Bay Sands and the Marina Bay waterfront. This serene escape never fails to blow us away with breathtaking views of our city skyline, making this one of our favourite places to watch fireworks. Though there is no entry fee, be sure to book your preferred timeslot two weeks in advance to visit these green spaces!

2. Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre: Spacious garden with seats

Known for their exciting, kid-friendly Chinese New Year events, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre is also home to a spacious rooftop garden. Here, little ones will have plenty of space to run wild and free without leaving your sight. There are adorable boulders that offer a place to rest your tired feet among the tall trees. Though you won’t find conventional benches here, there are giant marble seats, where you can enjoy a brief respite. If you plan to visit with the kids, we recommend checking out their seasonal activities for extra family fun! But if you plan to come alone, you’ll find a quiet escape from your hectic schedule.

3. Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay: Roof terrace with MBS view

If you’re looking for an escape downtown, head to Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay’s rooftop terrace for secret garden vibes. We love that this rooftop garden in Singapore overlooks the Marina Bay waterfront with open sky views of Marina Bay Sands. Situated on Level 4 of the Esplanade building, don’t expect sky-high vistas. Instead, pay a visit for breathtaking sunset views and gorgeous photos of the Singapore skyline. This hidden gem is ideal if you’re looking for peace and quiet. If you have the kids in tow, they’ll enjoy the small play area while you take in the panoramic views. For a romantic date night, hit up the rooftop bar here for drinks and dinner with a view!

4. National Gallery Singapore: Green space with art exhibits

With free kid-friendly activities and places for little ones to explore, National Gallery Singapore is one of our favourite places to visit with the kids. It is also home to the Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden, a space where art and nature collide. At this green space, you’ll find calm reflective pools and lush foliage, inviting you to slow down and connect with nature. We love that there’s always a reason to come back because this space also features artwork by leading contemporary artists for a limited time. Enjoy sweeping views of Singapore’s Civic District from modern skyscrapers to iconic heritage buildings.

5. Funan: Urban garden with edible plants

On the 7th floor of Funan Mall, you’ll find an 18,000 sqft rooftop garden featuring an urban farm. Operated by Edible Garden City, this urban farm is home to more than 50 types of fruits and vegetables including edible flowers, watermelon, mushrooms and more. Give your mind a breather from your to-do list as you take a slow walk through this garden or sit on a bench with your favourite book. If you’re keen to learn more about urban farming, you can book a workshop organised by the mall to learn how you can grow your own vegetables!

6. Design Orchard: Green haven in Orchard

Along Singapore’s most lively shopping district, Design Orchard is a creative space for emerging Singaporean designers. Though many have stepped into their retail spaces on the Ground Floor, the free rooftop garden here is a hidden gem that is designed to get all of your creative juices flowing. Whether you need inspiration for your next project or simply want to unwind in nature, this green space is just what you need. There’s amphitheatre-style seating, where you can read a book, catch a live performance or hang out with your friends. We love that there’s a cafe here too! Pop into The Alchemist to enjoy a cuppa with a view.

7. Orchard Central: Garden with a Discovery Walk

Orchard Road is known for its plethora of retail stores, which are perfect for an indulgent shopping spree. But when you need a break from the crowd, head to Orchard Central’s rooftop garden on Level 11, where you’ll find unique sculptures, calming green walls and a terrace with thriving plants. As you saunter through this garden’s Discovery Walk, you’ll get to enjoy views of the bustling Orchard Road and the surrounding cityscape. Though this garden is not big, it offers a green escape in the middle of an often crowded street. Visit in the late afternoon or early evening for cooler weather and pretty sunset views.

8. VivoCity: Sky park with water play area

VivoCity is one of our favourite malls in Singapore because you can literally find anything you need here, including free entertainment for the kids! If you want to shop in peace, send the kids to Sky Park with an adult, where they can get their feet wet in the water play area or simply burn off energy running around. Since this shopping mall is known to be quite crowded even on a weekday, this wouldn’t be our first choice if you’re looking for a quiet place to unwind on your own. With that said, the Sky Park does offer opportunities for fun family bonding time. Pack a picnic. their favourite snacks and water play toys, then unleash your little monkeys for some fun in the sun! Don’t forget to lather on sunscreen.

9. The Pinnacle@Duxton: HDB rooftop garden with a view

The Pinnacle @ Duxton has garnered much attention since they released their BTO flats, and their rooftop garden is unlike any other you’ll find at another HDB. With seven towers each standing 50-storeys tall, this is by far Singapore’s tallest public housing project. Located on Level 26 and 50, two sky bridges connect all seven blocks, both featuring spacious sky gardens for your morning yoga workout or evening stroll. If you’re not a resident here, fret not. You can enjoy free access to their 50th-floor sky garden to enjoy panoramic views of Chinatown and the CBD. There’s a small fee of $6 per person to enter, but we’d say it’s certainly worth a visit! The best time to go is around sunset for stunning IG-worthy photos.

10. SkyVille @ Dawson: Sky terrace on the 47th floor

Similar to The Pinnacle@Dawson, Skyville @ Dawson is another skyscraping HDB project in the heart of the city. It features a green haven on the 47th floor, where you’ll find sweeping views of Queenstown and Singapore’s buzzing city skyline. More than just an observation deck, this rooftop garden in Singapore has benches and tables so you can pack a picnic, conquer your to-do list or escape into a good book. If you’ve ever wanted to run with a view, lace up your running shoes and head to the 400-metre jogging path for a quick workout. Though the tall trees offer some shelter from the sun, we’d recommend visiting this garden for its stunning sunrise or sunset views. Since this is located at an HDB, there are no restrooms available, so be sure to hit the loo before visiting!

11. Our Tampines Hub: Community garden with a jogging track

If you live in the East, check out the rooftop garden at Our Tampines Hub to enjoy fresh air and explore the diverse crops planted by fellow residents! Bring your coffee and an afternoon snack to catch a breather, or get in your favourite workout gear to take off on the jogging track for a sweaty evening workout. Best of all? This community space has five barbecue pits, so you can rally your friends and fire up the grill! Do note that the glass baricade is not very high, so we recommend keeping a close eye on the kids in case your Spider-Man wanna-be attempts to climb up the glass panel.
Note: The booking fee for the BBQ pits is $30. They are currently closed for maintenance until the end of March 2026.

12. One Punggol: Rooftop with eight BBQ pits

Managed by the People’s Association, One Punggol is the North-East equivalent of Our Tampines Hub. Home to the Punggol Regional Library (which has a free air-conditioned playspace for kids!), it’s often buzzing with activity for families to bond and connect, and you might find free bouncy castles here every once in a while! When you need to escape the crowd, retreat to the rooftop garden for a cool vantage point of the Punggol estate. Here, you’ll find eight BBQ pits ($30 fee to book) for a relaxing evening gathering and a community garden where you can grow your own crops. For the best experience, we recommend visiting this lush community space early in the morning or in the evening to catch pretty sunrises and sunsets.

13. Anchorvale Village: Underrated rooftop garden in Sengkang

If you live in the North-East, you’ve probably heard of Anchovale Village in Sengkang. Known for the Anchorvale Village Hawker Centre and familiar stores like NTUC Fairprice, Guardian and Daiso, Anchorvale Village is a small community plaza for its neighbouring residents. When the kids need to burn off their energy, we take them to the outdoor playground on Level 4, while we enjoy peaceful views of Sengkang Riverside Park and beyond. Stroll beyond the playground to find a small rooftop garden with plenty of plants surrounding exercise stations for the young and old. If you’re looking for quiet space sans kids, head to the outdoor terrace at Level 3 for seats that are interspersed with lush greenery.

14. Marina Barrage: Grassy space for kite-flying & picnics

Marina Barrage is located just minutes from Bayfront MRT, Marina Barrage overlooks Singapore’s largest reservoir, offering panoramic views of the Marina Bay area. Play ‘I Spy’ with the kids to spot iconic attractions like Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, the Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay and more. Pack a picnic and snacks, then enjoy a serene stroll to the top for cloud-watching, kite-flying and more. Since there isn’t a shelter here, be sure to lather on sunscreen and check out the weather before you go.

15. (Bonus!) Marina Bay Sands: Iconic observation deck

If you’re looking for a romantic date night activity, get tickets to the SkyPark Observation Deck at Marina Bay Sands. Though this isn’t a rooftop garden per se, we couldn’t complete our guide without including one of the most iconic spots for panoramic views of the Singapore skyline. Sitting a whopping 56 storeys high, this rooftop space gives you a bird’s eye view of our bustling city. Since this is one of the more popular attractions in Singapore, you can expect a crowd if you visit during the peak hours. Tickets start from $35 per adult and $31 per child or $110 for a family package (2 adults & 2 kids).
