Road Safety Park at East Coast Park
Key features

Having been around for decades, the road safety park at East Coast Park is the most iconic go-to park for kids to learn road safety rules. Here, you’ll find a miniature road system, where kids can experience a mini city. Kids can start by choosing a mode of transport: foot, bicycle or scooter. Then they can make their way through the city, following working traffic lights, zebra crossings and road markings. There’s even a miniature bus stop and pedestrian overhead bridge, too!
Spending an afternoon at this road safety park is a great way to teach kids about road safety. Kids will learn how to stop at crossings, look both ways and follow traffic signals–important knowledge that will keep them safe when they’re old enough to be out and about on their own! While you’re here, check out the 5.4-hectare cyclist park featuring bike paths for all skill levels from beginner to advanced.

Mini Road Safety Park in Choa Chu Kang
Key features

Opened in 2025, the road safety park in Choa Chu Kang offers a smaller space for kids to practice traffic rules. Since this circuit is newer, it’s often less crowded than the iconic one at East Coast Park. We love that it’s modern and convenient for Westies–you no longer have to travel to the other side of the country to visit a road safety park!
Here, you’ll find directional arrows and zebra crossings for pedestrians, while cyclists and motorists can practice reading traffic signs like “Give Way”, adhering to yellow box junction rules and riding in their designated paths. Since this road safety park is smaller, we’d recommend it for younger kids aged 3 to 8.

Parent Tips for visiting a road safety park:

- The best time to visit is early morning and late afternoon on weekdays to avoid the heat and the weekend crowd.
- Pack water bottles to stay hydrated, as there isn’t much shelter at both parks.
- Let the kids bring their scooters or bicycles to make full use of the road safety circuit.
- Lather on sunscreen before heading out to protect yourself from the sun.
- Bring mini plastic cones to create obstacle games for the kids!
- Pack snacks for the kids because they’ll likely get hungry after burning off energy at the road safety park!
