Prices aren’t the lowest, but the brand is dedicated to fair trade practices and social justice, so you can feel good as you lick!
Birds of Paradise
The “botanical gelato” at this Katong boutique (with a new location at Jewel!) is handmade daily, in delectable flavours like White Chrysanthemum, Strawberry Basil, and Sea Salt Hojicha. Their freshly made “Thyme Cones” are also a massive draw. Don’t just take our word for it — just follow the massive queues along East Coast Road, or read their Michelin recommendation!

This American burger restaurant at MBS just might be most famous for their Crazyshakes (pictured above), calorific milkshake extravaganzas that come topped with candy coatings, lollipops, full slices of cake (!) and much more. At $19+ they ain’t cheap, but they’re fun to split for a special treat.

Made fresh on site daily using only the best ingredients, Island Creamery is a wildly popular homegrown mainstay that’s been churning out the sweet stuff since 2004. Don’t expect any boring flavours here. It’s all about Asian-inspired flavours like Tiger Sorbet, Teh Tarik, Pineapple Tart, and Pear Sake. There’s an irresistible range of take-home cakes, too.
This vegan ice cream parlour features scoops that are free from dairy, refined sugar, soy, gluten, and other artificial additives. Flavours range from chocolate sorbet, strawberry ice cream and almond brittle to more unique offerings like Haw Flakes and Blue Earth (hued by natural Butterfly Pea flower). Tracing its origins to a durian fruit stall on Thomson Road, Four Seasons Durians began turning out delectable cakes, durian puffs, crepes and more in the late 90s. Today they’ve got a flagship restaurant at Jewel and dessert counters across the island.

True, they’re known for their barbecue, but Burnt Ends also serves up a slammin’ doughnut (which you can now order to enjoy at home from their online bakery shop).
