Looking for some holiday shopping inspo? Our guide to Christmas gifts for men – including dads and husbands – will have you sorted!
We know husbands (+ dads, grandpas, fathers-in-law… you name it) can be really tough to buy for, especially when they just shrug their shoulders and mumble “I don’t know,” when you prod them for details! Not to worry, mamas: we’ve rounded up a list of can’t-miss gifts for men, from foodies to drone enthusiasts, and everyone in between. Look out for our other Gift Guides for Kids and for Mamas and Friends!
Whether for the gym, the morning commute, or conference calls, Apple AirPods Pro are incredibly lightweight, compact and high-tech: these in-ear headphones come with three different silicone tip sizes to fit every ear, and actually seal out outside noise with active noise cancellation for immersive sound (though there’s also a cool “transparency mode” for hearing what’s around you). They’re also sweat-and-water-resistant, which is great for workouts. Other cool features: they “connect magically” to your iPhone or Apple Watch, and you can even share a song, podcast or other audio stream between two sets of AirPods (might as well get some for yourself, mama!). On the gifting front, you can do personalised engraving on the sleek mini-charging case, which provides up to 24 hours of battery life, and provides an hour of use with just five minutes of charging. Note that personalised engraving is only available online!
If Papa loves his brewskis and wants to try his hand at making his own, why not sign him for a Basic Home-brewing workshop ($40)? Or take a step back and just let him gain a deeper enjoyment of his favorite beverage with a Beer Appreciation Class ($75, including a tasting of five different beers)?
And why should kids be the only ones to get fun advent calendars? We must say the Craft Beer Advent Calendar ($169) from Thirsty Beer Shop is one of the cleverest dad gifts we’ve seen: each day in the lead-up to Christmas papa will get to taste one of 24 craft beers hidden in the colorful box. The beers comprise 14 different beer styles, all from different craft breweries in the U.S., Belgium and Australia.

Author Aimee Chase’s popular One Question a Day series encourages people to take just a few moments each day to slow down and reflect. One Question a Day for You and Me recognizes how tricky it can be for partners (parents in particular!) to find the time to truly connect, but encourages the bond with thought-provoking questions like “What makes you feel loved?” and “If you could wake up anywhere tomorrow, where would you want to be?” The book is actually a three-year “modern memory” journal, which can become a creative keepsake for your relationship. Hey, it’s a whole lot cheaper than couple’s therapy!
Don’t get us wrong, we love the age of Netflix and streaming our fave shows and movies from our phones and tablets when we’re lying in bed at night, but it does detract from the cinematic experience you used to get watching on a big-screen TV. No more! NeatProjector is a portable home entertainment system that can connect to all your devices – it actually fits in your pocket – and projects whatever you’re watching onto a big wall with resolution up to 1920 x 1080. It comes with its own built-in speakers, or you can plug in to the headphone jack. This one’s great for techie Dads who love a good home entertainment experience!

Don’t call them water bottles, mama! Hydration has gone high-tech! We think two particular hydration systems – the HydroFlask Wide Mouth ($79.90) and LifeStraw Go ($61-$78) – will make particularly welcome gifts for men this Christmas.
The HydroFlask features a unique double wall insulation to protect temperatures – keeping cold drinks cold for up to 24 hours, and hot drinks hot for up to six! It’s also got durable, pro-grade stainless steel construction, and is naturally BPA-free. The wide mouth 40oz model is particularly great for swigging wine or beers at a picnic, we think!
LifeStraw, meanwhile, is great for active Dads on the go, with its own built-in microbiological filter that provides 5 years of safe water to keep out bacteria, parasites, and microplastics, along with organic chemical matter like pesticides and herbicides. It’s durable and BPA-free, and best of all for every bottle you purchase, LifeStraw donates money to provide one year of clean water to a child in need.
We love photobooks so much as a gift that we did a whole roundup about them earlier this month. Photobooks have made for very well-received gifts for the men in our lives, who can keep personalised albums on their desk at work, or at home. They’re a particularly nice way to commemorate a baby’s first year, or to compile photos of the kids at school. And at this time of year there are lots of discounts available, with prices starting from around $20 or $30 – check out our roundup for our top picks for photobooks in Singapore!

This local fine fragrance maker hand blends unique unisex fragrances in small batches, with the wearer’s name printed right on the label! The LAB Fragrances are 100% vegan and use only the safest ingredients that meet strict international standards. We think the simple design would really appeal to men, and that popular signatures like Earl Grey, Bergamot & Musk, Pepper & Tobacco and Agarwood would all smell lovely on our hubbies!

We actually suggested drones in last year’s guide as well, but the technology is improving so rapidly we wanted to do it again! This may be a gift for the hubs, but you’ll love the incredible shots this drone takes on your next family holiday, mama! If you want to just test the waters (or not, because some are not waterproof), start small and scroll through Amazon’s drone shop for a variety of options that won’t break the bank (from as little as $20)! If your hubby takes his drones seriously, Sassy team member Kristin and her husband highly recommend the DJI Mavic Air ($1,299) for its long battery life – check out the amazing photo above that they shot in the Maldives!
And don’t forget to familiarise yourself with Singapore’s drone regulations, mama!
We’re blessed to live in a place where you could theoretically play golf every day of the year. Even if that’s (hopefully!) not the case, chances are your hubby probably does enjoy hitting the links more often here than he would in Europe or North America, particularly with affordable world-class golf courses nearby in Bintan, Batam and Malaysia. Golf lessons have been a very popular gift in our house, as they don’t take much time (usually only 30 minutes or an hour) and can be tailored to suit hectic schedules, but really do help improve consistency and technique. There are lots of options at Singapore’s private golf clubs, of course, but you’ll find some great coaches at Champions Golf Course at Bukit Timah, which is open to the public.

A series of studies spanning decades at Cornell University (woohoo! Go Big Red! –KM) have repeatedly found that happiness is derived from experiences, NOT things. Of course we’re not saying your hubby or father wouldn’t enjoy any of the above-listed items, but there are lots of other cool gifts you can give that will create memories to last a lifetime. Not to mention they can help contribute to that zero-waste lifestyle that we’re always banging on about! This is also another present that is easy to gift from afar; in the past we’ve purchased concert and sports game tickets for our Dads, and you don’t have to pay hefty shipping charges!
A few cool experiences you could give to your husband or father:
- Tickets to a concert or sports game
- Cooking lessons
- A couple’s getaway or staycation
- A massage or men’s facial (a few places worth trying: ESPA, Urban Homme, Mandarin Oriental, Auriga at Capella Singapore, We Need a Hero)
- A luxury barbershop shave (try Autocutt, Jermyn Street, Sultans of Shave or We Need a Hero)
- A Supercar driving experience with a Ferrari or Lamborghini on the F1 track
- Flight Simulator Experience: land a 737!
