Are you a new parent, or have you recently moved to Singapore and are trying to come to grips with life in a new country? As mamas we know that running the family is a full-time job (and many of us took on yet another job during Circuit Breaker when we became teachers, too!), so we’re all about doing whatever we can to make life easier.

We’re sure you’ve heard of Amazon.sg, but we bet there’s a whole lot you don’t know about how you can make it work even harder for your family. Read on for our top 5 Amazon hacks to make your Amazon shopping experience even awesomer!

Amazon Hack #1: Wish Lists

With literally millions of products (17 million books alone!), Amazon.sg is the world’s biggest marketplace, so we totally get that you might come across some cool products that you may want to purchase in the future (this happens to me all the time when I read about new children’s books, or when I suddenly think of a toy that would be a perfect kid’s birthday present a few months down the line).

Wish Lists can be used to keep track of all those great things you want to save for later (or that you like to purchase frequently), from your monthly cleaning supplies, to birthday and Christmas gifts, to wedding and baby shower registries.

For instance, about once a month my helper asks me to restock on some of our favorite products from the U.S. – including Seventh Generation Baby Wipes (waaaay cheaper on Amazon than they are here), Bounty Paper Towels, Tide Pods and Honest Company Bubble Bath – so I have a shopping list for easy reference. Did you know that the list will also show you when there’s a deal for the item?

We loooove that wish lists can be shared with friends and family (every time grandparents and other relatives abroad ask for gift ideas, just – click! – share the link!), as this helps them save on shipping and ensures that the same item won’t be purchased twice.

Wish lists also give charitable organisations an easy way to create wish lists of products needed, while providing a convenient way for customers to directly contribute essential items that are truly critical to causes in need.

Amazon recently teamed up with the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre’s (NVPC) Company of Good for the Amazon X Retail for Good Wishlist campaign, which invites the public to support local non-profits and charities by fulfilling their beneficiaries’ wishlists on Amazon.sg. For instance, you can purchase school supplies for Children’s Wishing Well, or arts & crafts supplies for Blessings in a Bag to benefit less privileged children and youths. What better way to harness the power of retail than by conveniently helping out those in need?

Amazon Hack #2: Shop Today’s Deals

This is a must for deal-savvy parents! Today’s Deals only last for a limited time, and while stocks last. We love that you can filter by category – baby category deals, for instance, can feature up to 40% savings on key baby products like strollers, baby carriers, bottles, travel gear, and much more! Plus if you scroll down and refer to “Availability,” you’ll see that they have an “upcoming” filter checkbox — perfect to see what deals are on the horizon! There are also Prime Early Access Deals and Prime Exclusive Deals that Prime members can look out for.

Amazon Hack #3: Gift Finder

Need to find a gift for a friend or colleague who just gave birth? Or did your kiddo just remember that birthday party tomorrow that’ll require a present for their friend? And let’s not forget about Teachers’ Day! Whatever the occasion, Amazon.sg’s handy Gift Finder will have you covered with thousands of gifts that you can sort by both age and gender.

By the by, if you’re looking for the perfect new baby gift – or you’re on the hunt for a toy for your beloved niece or nephew – Amazon.sg just happens to be the biggest baby products store in Singapore! With hundreds of thousands of baby products at great prices, the baby category is your ultra-convenient one-stop shop for everything one could possibly need on their parenting journey. In concert with Amazon Prime Now (which offers free 2-hour delivery), you can get the best prices on diapers, wipes, baby clothing, feeding accessories, gear, and SO much more.

Amazon Hack #4: Product Filter

There are heaps of different ways to search for a product — by name, by brand, by customer reviews, even by delivery day. You can also tick boxes for Amazon Prime shipping from Singapore (which will mean handy next-day delivery), or Amazon Prime International shipping (which will be FREE with a minimum S$60 purchase). Pro-tip: This is where you’re most likely to find the widest selection of the latest baby products, parenting essentials, décor, toys and electronics from Amazon US.

If you want to shop all things local, check out Amazon’s Shop Local page, which supports Singapore-based businesses and includes hundreds of products from homegrown brands. And bonus! Almost all of the beautiful baby products – from diaper bags, to muslin swaddles, to toddler pillows – fall under the Singapore Prime category so they’re available for next-day delivery!

Amazon Hack #5: Prime Membership

This is the no-brainerest of all no-brainers! Amazon Prime membership entitles you to all manner of handy money and time-savers, including: or the Amazon Shopping App with no minimum spend

  • Free domestic one-day delivery on Amazon.sg or the Amazon Shopping App with no minimum spend (a major lifesaver for parents!)

Prime members also get unlimited access to award-winning movies and TV with Prime Video. If you’ve got a toddler or older kid, Amazon Prime Video is home to some of our favorite educational kids’ TV shows (my 2.5-year-old wants to be the dump truck from Stinky and Dirty when he grows up!).

With Prime membership you’ll also get exclusive deals and product launches, early access to legendary Prime Day lightning deals, and, for the limited stay-home period, access to a collection of audio books you can listen to for free on Amazon Audible!

You can do a 30-day Amazon Prime for FREE, then membership costs just S$2.99 per month thereafter (you’ll save more than that in shipping fees with your very first order!). Believe me, mamas, that is money very well spent. Visit www.amazon.sg/prime sign up for your free trial, mama!
