Plenty of new exciting exhibitions are popping up this month, from a space exhibition to Singapore’s largest light show at Marina Bay. There are also Halloween and Children’s Day activities to look forward to.

New month, new finds! This October is a month of museum visits and exhibition dates with plenty of new ones, including the Science Centre Singapore’s Space Explorers: THE INFINITE and the highly-anticipated The World of Studio Ghibli at ArtScience Museum. If you’re thinking of heading outdoors, the Singapore Zoo and River Wonders has exciting Children’s Day activities and promotions going on, and if you’re feeling spooky, head to USS for Halloween Horror Nights.

Space Explorers: THE INFINITE: Space-themed exhibition at the Science Centre Singapore

Take the kids on an out-of-this-world adventure this October and head west to Science Centre Singapore because the world’s largest immersive space exploration experience has made Singapore its first Southeast Asian debut!

Inspired by NASA missions, Space Explorers: THE INFINITE takes you on a VR journey 400km above Earth to the International Space Station. Take in breathtaking 360-degree views of space during a panoramic spacewalk, enjoy Earth-gazing and even meet real astronauts!

Bidadari Park: Winnie the Pooh-inspired park

If you’re a fan of Winnie the Pooh, then you’ll want to make a beeline for the newly-opened Bidadari Park! This 13-hectare park is inspired by the Winnie the Pooh forest, and features a massive treehouse playground, slides and even a zipline!

We mean it when we say this park is huge – it spans 18 football fields, making it the perfect nature escape in the middle of the bustling city.

Singapore Food Festival: Celebrating Singapore’s culinary scene

Getting hungry and craving comforting Singaporean food? You’re in luck because the Singapore Food Festival is back this year. However, instead of lines of food stalls, this year’s event gets an exciting refresh and will feature over 20 multi-sensory culinary events.

Accompanied by the theme “A Celebration of Old and New,” chefs will showcase refreshed versions of their favourite local dishes. There will also be signature events such as Future Food, where you can witness innovative culinary creations and cocktails.

Kids Enter Free at Singapore Zoo & River Wonders this October!

If you’re looking for a fun and educational way to celebrate Children’s Day, then Singapore Zoo and River Wonders are where you need to be! Over at Singapore Zoo, the Wild About Animals booth offers engaging activities where little ones can learn all about their favourite animals through an interactive booth.

Also, the new Fragile Forest Interactions lets kids get up close to some of the animal residents such as Malayan Flying Foxes and Ring-tailed Lemurs and learn everything from their diets to how they’re trained. There is also a butterfly release that happens at 3:30pm daily at the Butterfly Aviary that you shouldn’t miss. (Check on-site for availability)

Kids will love the new Ranger Buddies Quest (additional charges apply) where they can dive into a hands-on mission to learn about endangered species and discover how they can help protect wildlife across both Singapore Zoo and River Wonders. Kids who complete the quest will receive an exclusive reward pin, part of a collectable set of three per park.

Carnival of Flowers: Australian-themed floral display at GBTB

We’re always excited for the next stunning display at Gardens by the Bay, and the latest one has us buzzing – Carnival of Flowers! This vibrant showcase is the Gardens’ first-ever Australian-themed floral display, featuring an array of native blooms like kangaroo paw, grevillea, waratah, manuka, and banksia. The display is actually inspired by the famous Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, Australia’s longest-running floral show!

Pirate Land: New indoor playground at Eastpoint Mall

If you want to escape the heat and opt for indoor playtime instead, there’s a new indoor playground at Eastpoint Mall worth checking out. Pirate Land is designed for the littlies, and features trampolines, slides and a ball pit. There are also interactive games, a LEGO table to spark their creativity, and a soft play area for the tots to safely explore.

Monet Inside: Exhibition showcasing the works of Claude Monet

If you loved the Impressions of Monet exhibition at Gardens by The Bay, here’s another event to mark in your calendar! The folks at GROUNDSEESAW present Monet Inside, a visual art exhibition that features the works of French Impressionist painter Claude Monet.

What’s unique here is that the exhibition will be accompanied by captivating music that aims to reinterpret the painter’s masterpieces. The exhibition consists of five immersive large-scale screens and will showcase over 200 masterpieces.

The World of Studio Ghibli: Interactive exhibition at ASM

Tampines Boulevard Park: New park & playground in the East

There’s a brand-new outdoor playground in Tampines featuring spacious play areas where kids will have plenty of room to run around. Although, the highlight of this playground would have to be the distinctive dragonhead slide!

There’s also a sand play area with swings and a mini rock wall for the climbers in the family. And for the littlest cyclists, the tri-colour mini cycling track is perfect for them to pedal around.

lllumi: World’s largest light & sound event

Illumi is the world’s largest light, sound and multimedia event and has already taken Singapore by storm since its opening in September. This captivating installation features over 20 million LED lights in beautiful larger-than-life structures.

From ‘The Jurassic Kingdom’ to ‘The Illumi Tree of Light’ to a stunning carousel, this interactive exhibition is sure to be one of the most Insta-worthy spots in town! Run For Hope 2024: Run for a good cause

Looking to stay fit for a good cause? The 31st edition of Run For Hope returns this November, where you can lace up and run to support critical cancer research.

Chinese & Japanese Gardens: Reopened with new look

Here’s another reason to make your way to the west, Jurong Lake Gardens is officially completed as they unveiled the revamped Chinese and Japanese Gardens.

At the Chinese Garden, familiar landmarks such as Cloud Pagoda, Twin Pagoda and Bonsai Garden are still around for photo-ops. Some new features to look forward to include the edible garden with an outdoor kitchen and indoor plant factory. Over at the Japanese Garden, look out for beautiful new gardens such as the Water Lily Garden and Sunken Garden.
