Newly reopened rooftop water park (FREE!)

The free rooftop water playground at Tampines 1 mall has finally reopened! Kids will love splashing around the animal-themed play space that has a few little slides, sprinklers and water fountains. The Minions land in Singapore this September! A Minion’s Perspective Experience at Resorts World Sentosa, is an international touring exhibition based on the world’s most successful animated film franchise, Illumination’s Despicable Me and Minions. ⁠There will be eight thematic zones, with lots of hands-on activities plus life-sized characters such as the infamous The Vicious 6, Gru and Dr. Nefario, the adorable Girls, and of course, the Minions. ⁠The kids will be excited about designing their own fart guns (of course) in Gru’s Lab and taking photos with their favourite characters. There will even be the chance to learn to dance like Balthazar Bratt.⁠

Singapore Night Festival

The highly anticipated Singapore Night Festival is back between 19-27 August 2022 for its 13th edition! Following the theme of Rebirth, this year’s festival will see the Bras Basah, Bugis district light up with more than 55 vibrant experiences. There will be over 14 light installations, experiential programmes, projection-mapping installations, and free performances. Each display will illuminate the island’s lesser-known stories, including Glitches of You by Amanda Tan which is a projection-mapping installation that explores a multicultural modern identity in glitch art and fractured pixels and Tunnel Graffiti by Lynette Quek – an interactive installation that reimagines the motifs of life in old Singapura. The Hungry Ghost Festival: 7th month

August, the seventh month in the lunar calendar is when the Hungry Ghost Festival is celebrated. This is the reason you’re seeing lots of incense candles and food offerings in your neighbourhood. The Hungry Ghost Festival marks the opening of the Gates of Hell and is celebrated by Buddhist and Taoist devotees to honour the memories of the deceased. Guns N’ Roses Live in Singapore: 12 November 2022

For one night only, Gun N’ Roses return to Singapore for the first time since their 2017 Not in This Lifetime Tour. The band will play at the Singapore National Stadium on 12 November as part of their Asia-Pacific tour. Guns N’ Roses tickets will cost between $128 to $248, excluding booking fees.

Films At The Fort returns this year after a three year hiatus due to the pandemic. From 1o to 21 August 2022, Films At The Fort presented by Casillero del Diablo will screen 11 award-winning films from Cannes, Sundance, the Academy Awards and must-watch classics – think Operation Mincemeat (Colin Firth), Licorice Pizza (Bradley Cooper), The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (Nicholas Cage) and Everything Everywhere All at Once (Michelle Yeoh) among others. Come earlier when the gates open at 5pm to chill with drinks and food from the fully stocked onsite bar and snack menu. Enjoy the music until the feature film begins at 7:45pm.
