New month, new finds! This February, Capybara-themed fun awaits at a new indoor playground at Kallang Leisure Park. Universal Studios Singapore’s Minion Land: Opens 14 February

Universal Studios Singapore’s Minion Land will finally open its doors to the public on Valentine’s Day, 14 February! Look forward to a three-part adventure that will whisk you away from reality into the exciting world of the Despicable Me and Minion films. At Gru’s Neighbourhood, you’ll get to step into Gru’s super villain laboratory for an unpredictable ride, while dancers can get their groove on at Buggie Boogie featuring a Minion dance party-themed carousel.

Love sky-high views? Head to Silly Swirly, where you can take off in uniquely-styled vehicles and spin and soar through the sky while enjoying stunning views of the lagoon and Super Silly Fun Land. When the kids start getting hungry, make your way to the Super Hungry Food Stand, a new restaurant inspired by Super Silly Fun Land from Despicable Me. Then stop by Sweet Surrender, Pop Store and Fun Store to pick up some exclusive merch and treats before heading home!

Dig Dig Land: Construction-themed outdoor playground

Does your little one love excavators? Take them to the brand-new construction-themed playground located across from IMM. This massive 4,000-square-foot outdoor playground is designed for kids aged two and up and offers seven main play areas. Kids can operate a mini excavator at the Excavator Zone or put their stacking skills to the test at the Skyline Crane Zone. The Sand Adventures Zone is a sand pit with construction-themed fun!

Kids can take charge of remote-operated construction vehicles at the RC Zone and discover construction tools at the Builder’s Workshed Zone. They can even ride kid-friendly construction vehicles at the Vehicle Play Zone or go fishing at the Kid Fishing & Fish Tank DIY Zone. Do note that this is mostly outdoors, so lather on sunscreen and be sure to stay hydrated!

365 Cancer Prevention: Free cervical cancer screening

Cervical cancer is the 10th most common cancer in Singapore, and more than 200 people are diagnosed each year. 365 Cancer Prevention Society is offering free cervical cancer screening from now until 15 March 2025 to empower women to take charge of their health through early detection. This screening is available for women aged 25 to 69 years old, are sexually active or have engaged in sexual intercourse, and hold a valid blue or orange CHAS card or the Public Assistance Card. In addition, you can support this #My1stPapTest campaign by donating online. A $30 donation will help to ensure accurate and reliable results for early detection, while a $50 donation will sponsor a woman from the lower-income group, covering half the cost of a critical cervical cancer screening. A $100 donation will fully sponsor a cervical cancer screening for a woman in need. Even the smallest donation will make a difference in someone’s life.

Singapore Zoo: CNY activities with reptiles

Plantation Grange: Seven new playgrounds at Tengah

If you haven’t been to Tengah, this might be your sign to visit with the kids. This developing estate is causing quite the buzz in Singapore as there are now seven exciting fruit and plantation-themed playgrounds for kids of all ages. Cocoaland at Blk 131B features intricate designs on a treehouse trunk, while the Tree of Life playground at Blk 131C is the tallest structure that will give your kids a good workout as they climb to the treehouse.

The Ong Lye Garden at Blk 132A (pictured above) is inspired by a giant yellow pineapple, while the Durian Paradise at Blk 132C gives little ones plenty of opportunities to practice climbing. Younger tots will love exploring at the Mini-Treehouse at Blk 131C. Just note that all of these playgrounds are not sheltered, so be sure to visit during the cooler hours of the day and bring along lots of water!
