What’s new in Singapore in August 2024
Illumi: world’s largest illumination event coming to Singapore!
Mark your calendars because Bayfront Event Space is set to be the brightest spot in Singapore this September with Illumi, also known as the world’s biggest light, sound, and multimedia event. Making its debut outside Montreal, where it first launched in 2019, Illumi will feature over 20 million LED lights in stunning, larger-than-life structures. Highlights include ‘The Jurassic Kingdom’ with dinosaur light structures, ‘The Illumi Tree of Light,’ which is the tallest illuminated tree, and a gorgeous carousel. The best part? This fully interactive exhibition allows guests to climb the structures, take plenty of photos, and let little ones run around freely to explore! Tickets are available from 30 July on TremTix and Pelago.

Art of the Brick: LEGO® art exhibition
The highly-anticipated LEGO art exhibition, Art of the Brick, is finally coming back to Singapore following its successful first run 10 years ago! This exhibition, named CNN’s Top 10 “Global Must-See Exhibition”, the exhibition will feature more than 150 sculptures made from over a million LEGO bricks from artist Nathan Sawaya. This will also include re-imaged versions of some of the world’s most famous artworks, including Michelangelo’s David, Van Gogh’s Starry Night, and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa! There is also a 20-foot T-Rex skeleton made entirely of LEGO and an interactive LEGO creation area, which the little ones will love. The exhibition will open on 31 August, and the waitlist is already open! Plus, the first 1,000 ticket buyers can enjoy a 20% early bird discount.

Bubble Planet: An Immersive Experience
Following successful runs in Milan, USA, Brussels and London, Bubble Planet: An Immersive Experience will be making its Asia-Pacific debut in Singapore on 31 August! Dive into a whimsical world of bubbles through 11 themed areas. These include a VR room, an undersea LED room, a bubble bath ball pit and more. There will also be interactive areas and a robot-led bubble show! The waitlist is already open, and the first 1,000 ticket buyers can enjoy a 20% early bird discount.

Minicorn Club: New kids’ club in Sentosa!
There’s a new drop-in kids’ club in Sentosa with exciting activities for the kids while parents can relax with a glass of cocktail and spicy wings! The Minicorn Club, under the beach club The Tipsy Unicorn, opens every Sunday at the Euphoria Suite, where two-hour sessions by The Creative Nook will feature activities across storytelling, dramatisation, arts and crafts and more. The club caters to children ages 3-8, and the best part, it’s completely free! Parents just need to book a table at The Tipsy Unicorn before visiting.

Singapore Zoo Backstage Pass: Elephant Encounters
Have you ever wondered what the majestic elephants at the Singapore Zoo are up to when there are no crowds around? The Singapore Zoo’s all-new Backstage Pass: Elephant Encounters lets you discover just that and more. The programme begins on 9 August and is a guided tour that takes you behind the scenes and up close with the elephants. You’ll also get a chance to feed these gentle giants!

1-Flowerhill: New multi-concept establishment in Sentosa
1-Flowerhill is a new F&B spot in sunny Sentosa that’s home to three different food establishments: Wildseed, Wildseed Bar & Grill and Camille. Wildseed is no stranger to the cafe scene, serving up delicious food accompanied by beautiful interiors in its other branches in Alkaff Mansion and The Summerhouse. This branch promises no less, and we love that it is pet-friendly! Stay for sundown, when you can enjoy cocktails and delicious grilled meats as you sit back and enjoy the sunset. Lastly, Camille is the next go-to date spot. The restaurant’s design is inspired by French Impressionist Artist Claude Monet’s wife and muse, Camille. It serves delicious French-Japanese fusion cuisine in an intimate setting with gorgeous floral views.

New trail at Night Safari
Night Safari just announced a new addition: a 280m Pangolin Trail! This walking trail will be unveiled soon and will allow visitors to observe various species, including the Sunda pangolin, slow loris, binturong, oriental small-clawed otter, and spotted giant flying squirrel. As part of Night Safari’s mission to conserve the endangered Sunda pangolin in the wild and within their care, the Pangolin Trail promises an exciting experience where you can marvel at these nocturnal creatures in their natural habitat.

Run For Hope 2024
