Having lived in South America, Europe, other parts of Asia, and now Singapore, Killari’s founder, Sofia Villacis’s style is, in a word… eclectic. She draws inspiration from these vastly different countries to create her own unique blend of glamorous-bohemian meets street-chic designs that are unique and one-of-a-kind. Her style — and by extension, Killari’s — is shaped by stones and minerals sourced from far-flung corners of the earth, artfully handcrafted into sophisticated designs that you’ll treasure forever.

Carrie K

It has been nearly five years since Carrie K. Artisan Jewellery was created, yet Carrie K. never seems to run out of ideas – far from it in fact! With each new collection she manages to shock and awe us with creative designs that are playful, elegant and distinct in their own way. Each piece is a story that this local designer wishes to share – whether about her adventures or about her dreams. And that perhaps, is what makes her designs so appealing. Her latest collection titled, A Beautiful Mess features laser-cut leather handcrafted in Istanbul, accented with silver, gold and enamel in irregular shapes.

Available online and at 136 Bukit Timah Road, Singapore 229838.
Open Sat 2pm – 6pm, Mon to Fri by appointment only.

Bohemian Butterfly

She’s had her designs shown at Treasure London, London Jewellery Week and International Jewellery London, as well as featured in a stack of magazines and books – so you know Bohemian Butterfly founder Alisha is a force to be reckoned with! And it’s little wonder her handmade jewellery has received such critical acclaim… Bohemian Butterfly is all about creating beautiful and eclectic treasures handmade with love. Using only quality metals and semi precious gemstones, each piece is a treasured gem to be cherished for a long time.

Lustre is an online jewellery store with an extremely unique method of peddling their wares – they’ve tapped into the power of social media, selling all their pieces in an auction-style manner on their Facebook page! Customers have to camp out at their page, waiting for the latest designs to be launched. And when they are, you need to snap it up quickly by commenting on the photo with the word “SOLD”, along with your email address. It’s a method that has worked surprisingly well, probably thanks to Lustre’s brilliant vintage-esque designs, which come in one-off pieces, and at completely affordable prices too!

It’s difficult not to fall in love with Setu’s designs. Inspired by traditional Indian design elements combined with modern day sensibilities, Setu is a marvellous collection of of jewellery pieces that remain totally wearable for normal day to day parenting life. Think elaborate statement pieces with splashes of colour, heavy decorative gems and intricate embroidery. Their latest collection, for example, is inspired by the ethereal colours of the universe, melded with metallic hues and bursts of gold, red and green…. it’s handcrafted art that shouldn’t be missed.

T. Atelier

Inspired by all things animal… folk art patterns, symbols, and arches, plus a little bit of nature, local designer, Tricia Ng creates luxury jewellery for the contemporary woman, using both precious and semi-precious gems. The result is elegant and sophisticated designs perfect for that special dinner or glamorous event (no kids!). We especially love T. Atelier for that quirky edge, which really makes them stand out in the crowd. While their collections veer slightly to the pricier end, their unique designs and high-quality materials make them utterly worth it.

My Vintage Jewel Box

Local jewellery designer, Ryn, has a new age approach when it comes to jewellery making. She believes that all jewellery should have a soul with its own story, whether of special relationships, a memorable event or a personal message (or even as the perfect push present!). This of course seeps into her designs, resulting in whimsical jewellery pieces, like rings in the shape of wild flowers, earrings that looks like corals, and inspirational necklaces with words such as “Laugh Often”, “Follow Your Bliss” and “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching”.

Available online and various stockists. Local and international shipping charges apply.

Hanna Lee

Struck by the lack of European-style fashion jewellery in Singapore, mother and daughter team, Helen and Hayley, decided to take matters into their own hands. They started up Hanna Lee, bringing in jewellery from the US, London, Turkey and Europe, with a strong focus on New York and London designers, such as Alexis Bittar, Kenneth Jay Lane and Miquel Assis (some of which are exclusive to the store too!). True to its goal of being a one-stop shop for fashion jewellery, Hanna Lee is stocked with a wide range of accessories… there’s something here for everyone in the family (mamas included!).

501 Bukit Timah Road, #02-15 Cluny Court, Singapore 259760

Mandy Wu

Definitely not for the faint hearted, local designer Mandy Wu clearly isn’t afraid to express herself. Her fashion jewellery label is strong-willed, dark and, in its own way, incredibly sensual. Mandy describes her style as sculptural with dark undertones and is a culmination of her conscious thoughts, manifested into these pieces of art. Created with a wide variety of materials, from brass and silver to faux leather and fabrics, Wu’s designs are inspired by warriors, and are an interesting addition to any mama’s jewellery collection.

Connector Jewels

Who would’ve thought you could wear a single necklace in a dozen different ways? Well, you might not be able to do that with any necklace – unless it’s one from Connector Jewels! Created with hand-selected semi-precious stones that are perfect at every angle, Connector Jewels pieces are created with magnetic clasps that allow you switch the way you wear the necklace. You could even separate the necklace into smaller sections to wear them as short necklaces, bracelets, belts and so on. And if you purchase sets in different colours and designs, you could always mix and match the pieces for a unique look that screams “you”.
