Was your munchkin born to move? Check out our guide to the best kids’ dance classes in Singapore, mama!
Wriggling, jiggling, bopping, popping, jumping and jiving – it’s just the average day in the life of our littlies! Why not channel those moves and grooves into some of Singapore’s top dance classes? Whether it’s pirouetting in a ballet class, or bouncing around in a hip hop class, here’s our guide to children’s dance classes in Singapore.
Two acronyms to keep an eye out for: RAD (The Royal Academy of Dance, from the UK) and CSTD (The Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing, from Australia). These two prestigious systems are known and respected around the world, and many of Singapore’s top dance schools offer one or both of their curricula.

Conveniently located in City Square Mall, this relatively new studio has quickly gained traction with a wide variety of classes for both kids and adults covering Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary, all taught from the CSTD syllabus by a talented team of internationally-experienced, highly qualified and friendly teachers. We particularly love their Melody Bear Preschool Class for toddlers 2-4 (so cute!). Impressively, Stepping Out has a 100% exam pass rate for all of their students across all dance genres.
If you ever wondered whether it’s possible to sign up for ballet tuition for your kiddos, it is! Artistry En Pointe offers Ballet Tuition with expert coaching by Miss Ching Ching Teo, the first Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Examiner in Singapore. Appointed in 2008, Miss Teo has travelled to Brazil, Spain, Japan & Australia etc as a Ballet Examiner, and has also tutored teacher-training courses (RAD CBTS ISP). You can trust Miss Teo who is known for her pedagogical approach that includes an eye for detail and sense of humour (no intimidating teachers here!), that encourage development of sound technique, musicality and self-confidence. Her rap sheet is incredibly impressive too – her students have achieved 100% passes with many awarded Distinctions, for the RAD Ballet examinations.
Private lessons, holiday courses and mock exams are also available, for beginners through to pre-professional dancers and trainee ballet teachers.
Centre Stage has everything from ‘Ballet Tots Mummy & Me’ classes for 2- and 3-year-olds, all the way up to Tap classes for mamas who want to get their wiggles out! The school also offers the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus for Ballet, along with classes in Jazz, Tap, Contemporary Dance, Musical Theatre Dance and Hip Hop. All full-time teachers have real-world performance and theatre experience; Ballet Mistress Liliana Durlai has been a professional ballet dancer on some of Europe’s biggest stages. Other stuff we love: two spacious locations in the East and West, and ampler performance opportunities throughtout the year – most recently The Nutcracker onstage at Marina Bay Sands!
