• Betta fish: Also known as fighting fish (simply because they tend to fight a fair bit), betta fish are the easiest to maintain, making them fab for younger children and toddlers. All you need is one fish – if you want two, make sure one is female and the other is male! – and a jelly jar with a bit of aquatic plants. Feed them regularly and watch them swim!
• Danio: A torpedo-shaped fish that’s from the minnow family, danio fishes are hardy and don’t need water filtration. Just change the water once or twice a week! How’s that for easy peasy?
