COMO Adventure Grove playground at the new Gallop extension of Singapore Botanic Gardens is one of our favourite free outdoor park playgrounds where kids can connect with nature. Here’s what kids can expect when they visit the COMO Adventure Grove playground!

New biophilic playground

Inspired by the distinctive parts of the trees found within the grounds (more than 200 in total), the COMO Adventure Grove playground is all about appealing to children’s innate desire to explore and connect with nature.

Banyan tree for climbing

The COMO Adventure Grove playground is inspired by the distinctive parts of trees found within the Botanic Gardens. A 10m banyan tree structure made with steel posts hand-painted to look like bark texture, takes pride place at COMO Adventure Grove playground.

Climb to the top of the 5.8m banyan tree tower via netted ropes for ace views – see if you can spot nesting birds, squirrels and butterflies from up here!

Climbing ropes, swings and hammocks

The COMO Adventure Grove banyan tree has 13 branches complete with climbing ropes, swings and hammocks for children to play Tarzan on!

COMO Adventure Grove playground has two tube slides!

Thrill-seekers, this one’s for you! What goes up, must come down. And what better way to descend from the banyan tree than in a tube slide!

Zoom down two long tube slides at 4m and 2.1m long, designed for speed and thrills!

Find the giant jackfruit

Kids, can you spot the massive jackfruit hidden within the COMO Adventure Grove playground? It’s over 100 times the size of a real jackfruit so you can’t miss it!

See if you can scale its thorny surface – test your coordination and improve your sense of awareness as you go up and clamber down!

This part of the playground is advised for 5-year-olds and above.

Mini obstacle course

Insect riders, undulating mounds and wooden steps create an obstacle course for kids at the COMO Adventure Grove playground. Bright red specially designed gigantic saga seeds provide colourful and springy seats to balance on!

Where to eat at Gallop Extension?

Climb the steps behind the playground and you’ll reach a path that leads to the toilets and a new cafe called Bee’s Knees Petite (9 Gallop Rd, Singapore 259014) open 8am to 9pm serving fruit bowls, breakfast options plus pastries, sandwiches and salads. Further up the path you’ll reach the Botanical Art Gallery.

Planning Tips:

  • Best to check the NParks app to see if it’s crowded or go very, very early in the morning!
  • This playground is not shaded so bring hats.
  • Dress the kids in leggings or long trousers so that they don’t burn themselves on the metal slide.

Parking at Como Adventure Grove

There is a small car park on site at the Gallop Extension to access COMO Adventure Grove playground. If you are driving along Tyersall Avenue from Holland Rd, choose the car park on the left which is the closest parking to Como Adventure Playground.  There is another car park at Singapore Botanic Gardens National Orchid Garden/Gallop Extension Learning Forest on the right but it’s a much farther walk to COMO Adventure playground (only choose this if the other car park is full).

How to get to Como Adventure Grove Playground, Gallop Extension

The Singapore Botanic Gardens COMO Adventure Grove playground is located at the Gallop Extension. To reach the COMO Adventure Grove, from the entrance of Gallop Extension, follow the signs, taking the path that leads past the OCBC Arboretum.

Opening hours at Como Adventure Grove playground

Unlike many other children’s parks in Singapore, Como Adventure Grove playground is open daily (including Mondays) from 7am to 7pm.

What else is at the Gallop Extension of the Botanic Gardens besides COMO Adventure Playground?

– OCBC Arboretum featuring a collection of rare and endangered trees from around the region. No dogs allowed.
– Mingxin Foundation Rambler’s Ridge – ridge-top hiking trail. No dogs are allowed.
– Botanical Art Gallery: a Natural History Art Gallery will showcase over 2,000 botanical illustrations plus other art.
