Super Nintendo World Singapore: Everything We Know So Far (Estimated Opening 2030!)

It’s confirmed! Super Nintendo World Singapore will be landing at Sentosa Island, estimated to launch in 2030. Here’s all we know about the exciting new addition to Universal Studios Singapore, and what to expect once it launches.

The wait for Super Nintendo World Singapore has felt very familiar for us parents–sort of like travelling with a child who keeps asking, “are we there yet?”. Alas, we finally have an update! The Sentosa Development Corporation has announced big plans for the expansion of Sentosa that’s planned to be completed in 2030. Alongside a slew of lifestyle attractions, word is that Super Nintendo World Singapore is confirmed to be opening at Universal Studios Singapore around that time. No official opening date or year has been released so far, but here’s all we know and what to expect once it does:

Announcement of Super Nintendo World Singapore

We first caught wind of Super Nintendo World back in 2019, when Resorts World Sentosa announced it as an addition to Universal Studios Singapore. Creator of Mario, Shigeru Miyamoto, also confirmed this addition during the Nintendo Direct on 18 December 2020. The park was planned for a 2025 opening date, but has since been delayed. Construction has reportedly began since, with rides such as Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge in the works.

On 3 July 2026, the Sentosa Development Corporation very briefly mentioned plans for Super Nintendo World’s completion, alongside redevelopment plans for Sentosa Island that’s expected to complete in 2030.

What to expect at Super Nintendo World Singapore

Super Nintendo World currently exists at three Universal Studios theme parks around the world: in Osaka, California and Orlando. This dedicated zone mainly comprises video game-inspired areas inspired by Nintendo smash hits, including Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country. Super Nintendo World Singapore is expected to follow suit, with crowd-favourite zones, rides and experiences.

Here are some mainstays across the three existing parks, that we’re eager to see in the Singapore instalment:

The iconic green warp pipe entrance:
You cannot enter the world of Super Mario and friends without experiencing what it’s like to go through those iconic green warp pipes! And yes, they serve as the entrance of Super Nintendo World. In existing parks, you will have to either walk to take an escalator through the warp pipe before emerging into the grand hall or courtyard of Princess Peach’s Castle.

Interactive Power-Up Bands:
At Super Nintendo World, you aren’t just going on themed rides and snapping pics with photo ops; you can absolutely interact with the environment! Purchase Power-Up Bands and you’ll unlock the ability to punch those iconic “?” blocks to collect virtual coins and play mini games, which will ultimately lead to a final boss showdown against Bowser Jr. We’re definitely hoping this will be a part of the Singapore instalment.

Character meet-and-greets:
No visit to Universal Studios Singapore is complete without a character meet-and-greet, and that’s what we’re hoping to get at the new Super Nintendo World in Singapore. Existing parks see the likes of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Chef Toad making appearances.

Rides & roller coasters at Super Nintendo World Singapore

What we particularly love about the rides and roller coasters at Super Nintendo World is that they’re incredibly family-friendly! Two of the rides are slow-moving and don’t feature any mature or horror elements unlike some of the other rides at USS. Even the Donkey Kong roller coaster is relatively tame, so they’re overall great for beginners.

Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge:
This is the hit ride of all existing Super Nintendo World parks, and it is not a roller coaster! Instead, you’ll zoom through Bowser’s Castle with the help of AR visors, animatronics and projection mapping. The ride is highly interactive, and we reckon you’ll have lots of fun throwing shells at opponents, collecting coins and more!

Yoshi’s Adventure:
You can currently find Yoshi’s Adventure at Super Nintendo World Osaka and Orlando. It’s a slow-moving ride where you’ll hop into a Yoshi-themed vehicle and search for hidden coloured eggs along the way. There’ll possibly be animatronics of iconic Mario foes along the way, such as Pokeys and Goombas (but let’s be real, they’d be super cute welcome sight!).

Donkey Kong roller coaster:
This is the only roller coaster ride that can be found at Super Nintendo World Osaka and Orlando, and we’re hoping it’ll be included in the Singapore park. It’s also a family-friendly ride, so you won’t get any upside-downs or extreme gimmicks. It takes you through scenes from the Donkey Kong Country video games, with its most defining feature being its “track jumping” sequence!

What to eat at Super Nintendo World Singapore: Toadstool Cafe

Another mainstay of all Super Nintendo World parks is the Toadstool Cafe, where Chef Toad can be spotted serving up adorable themed dishes inside a giant mushroom. The cafe most recognisably features digital “windows” where you can observe Toads going about their day in their village. We hear Bowser occasionally causes a ruckus, too!

You can also look forward to themed food, such as the Mario Bacon Cheeseburger, the Fireflower Spaghetti & Meatballs, and Princess Peach’s Cake.

Tickets for Super Nintendo World Singapore

Tickets for Super Nintendo World are generally included in general access for all three Universal Studio parks. So, we’re expecting it to be the same for Singapore. Some parks have timed entry, early access add-ons and ticket bundles for other attractions.

Tickets for Universal Studios Singapore currently cost from $83/adult and $69/child, with prices varying during peak periods such as summer holiday season.

Super Nintendo World Singapore opening hours & dates

According to the latest announcement by the Singapore Development Corporation, Super Nintendo World Singapore could possibly open in 2030. However, no exact date has been announced just yet, so we’ll have to stay tuned for more info!

Opening hours are expected to be the same as USS’ current operating hours, which is 10am to 8pm, daily.

How to get to Super Nintendo World Singapore

Super Nintendo World Singapore will be located within Universal Studios Singapore. The exact green warp pipe entrance location has yet to be revealed, but access will be via the park itself.
