New Bakery on Amoy Street: The Fat Kid Bakery
Known for their scrumptious sourdough bomboloni and decadently chocolatey brownies The Fat Kid Bakery has now moved to Amoy Street – just a few minutes walk from Telok Ayer MRT Station – after they closed their Ang Mo Kio outlet. The Fat Kid Bakery was founded in 2020 by 24-year-old self-taught baker, Ariel Tang, who started baking her now signature chocolate brownies for friends and family. Her baking received a following and she has since expanded into a brick-and-mortar store to offer artisanal bakes, croissants, sandwiches, and takeaway coffee! Ariel’s bomboloni (Italian filled doughnuts) come in sweet and savoury fillings priced from $3.80 to $6.50 – think Spicy Egg Mayo or Roasted Garlic Mascarpone, or sugary classics including Chocolate, Vanilla Crème Brûlée, and Blueberry Cheesecake.
