Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse
Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse is where to head to if dad’s appetite for steak knows no bounds (or if you fancy dining on steak en group) thanks to their novel 1.1kg charcoal-grilled Bistecca alla Fiorentina Wagyu T-Bone Steaks. Getting a table (or counter spot) at Burnt Ends is no mean feat so a little pat on the back if you managed to get a pew here! The modern Australian barbecue restaurant features a long open-concept kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work. Custom-made grills fired by coal, apple and almond wood ensure a sexy charred exterior with a juicy tender bite to their meats.

Bedrock Bar and Grill
Bedrock Bar and Grill’s toasty leather booth seats make for a great date night restaurant (they also have an outdoor terrace). There’s the Bedrock Black Pepper steak ($108), Australian grass-fed ribeye ($89) and Tomahawk steak (market price), with moreish sides like the truffle mac and cheese or creamed spinach. For veggie partners, try the “Steak” Diane of grilled mushroom, diane sauce, and truffle fries ($32). Then you can settle in for a nightcap with their fine selection of whiskey labels.

Butcher Boy is a contemporary-style Asian Grill brought to you by the team at Cure, located along the same stretch on Keong Saik Road and helmed by chef-owner Andrew Walsh. Steak-wise there’s the Japanese Tender Valley Rib Eye but other meaty offerings include their Butcher Boy Bacon & Cheese Burger with Fries ($28), Crispy Pork Belly, and Duck Banh Mi with Liver Pate and Sriracha ($18). This spot is a fun buzzing place for Asian-inspired cocktails, too!

CUT by Wolfgang Puck
This 1-Michelin Starred restaurant at Marina Bay Sands offers an excellent selection of premium cuts imported from the USA, Australia, and Japan (like the Japanese A5 Kobe Beef). This is a very special (read: hard on the wallet!) kind of place with some steaks exceeding $250, so choose wisely. For Father’s Day there’s an exclusive whisky flight on 17 June: $48++ for three tasting pours of 30ml each, featuring Laphroaig 10 Year Old, refined Bruichladdich’s The Classic Laddie and the unique Bruichladdich’s Octovore, a single malt Scotch whisky.

Fat Cow is an upmarket steakhouse focussing on Japanese steaks prepared Shabu-Shabu, Sukiyaki, Hobayaki or the Sumibiyaki (charcoal-grill) style. Priced on the higher end with Ohmi Grade A4 Ribeye (from $138++, 150g) and Iwate Grade A5 Ribeye (from $148++, 150g), there’s always the option of a more affordable lunch date. Lawry’s The Prime Rib
The iconic Lawry’s The Prime Rib is a classy steakhouse on the fourth floor of the Mandarin Hotel boasting panoramic views of the Orchard Road though its floor-to-ceiling windows. The must-order is the signature 21 days aged USDA beef prime rib and the standing tradition of The Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad where servers stand on their tiptoes to to pour Lawry’s exclusive Vintage dressing over a blend of crisp romaine, iceberg lettuce, shredded beets, baby spinach, chopped eggs and croutons. Les Bouchons is a cute French restaurant on Ann Siang Road and at Rob Quay by the river, serving steak with and (here’s the clincher) free flow golden fries! From grilled Rib Eye Steak With “Vigneron” butter ($39.80) to the meat-lovers’ feast of prime rib (the Giant “Cote de Boeuf” 1Kg for 2 Persons at $50), this spot does simple French steaks well.

L’Entrecote is a casual spot offering practically only one thing for main — steak and frites! The good news is this spot is super affordable at $34.90 (or upsize your meat for $54.90), and the other good news is that fries are unlimited! You’ll also get a small fresh green salad with mustard dressing and walnuts. Splash out on desserts; there is a big choice here of at least 15 different sweet endings but it’s hard going past the French profiteroles.

The name says it all, doesn’t it? MeatSmith, by the same people behind award winning Burnt Ends, offers the meat lover great meaty food in a casual dining set up. This smokehouse has eclectic dishes on the menu from Memphis Rub Pork Cheeks ($9) to Hot Smoked Sausage ($9).

Morton’s is a classic American steakhouse with stellar service in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Plump for the Center Cut Prime Ribeye ($99.50) or the Center Cut Filet Mignon (from $80) for perfectly grilled tender meat. We have a soft spot for their happy hour from 5 to 7 pm when you can sip martinis (Cosmopolitan, Appletini, Chocolate Mortini, Lycheetini) at just $15.95, and enjoy complimentary steak sandwiches!

Opus Bar & Grill
Opus Bar & Grill at the Hilton Singapore offers steak grilled over their open charcoal grill. This Father’s Day they are offering a whopping 800g charcoal-grilled Australian Westholme Wagyu Sirloin (which is good for 2 pax), with 2 free sides and a special wine package at $138++ (for 2 people). This modern steakhouse located at Sentosa Cove exudes upmarket dining with its bling decor and elaborate chandeliers. There’s an open kitchen with a Parilla grill and the menu offers a selection of beef imported from the USA, Argentina, and Australia featuring the skirt steak at $79.

At sleek moody Wolfgang’s Steakhouse,the Porterhouse ($185 for two people) is the thing to order. Wolfgang’s uses USDA Prime Black Angus steaks, which are flown in directly from the US, then placed in a climate-controlled facility for 28 days of dry aging, which results in super tender, extra flavourful meat. For Father’s Day father and son (awwww) Wolfgang & Peter Zwiener have created Singapore’s most decadent whisky pairing set menu ($280), combining their pick of the finest Macallan pours with their signature dry-aged steak. Perched on the 3rd floor of the Raffles City Shopping Center, Wooloomooloo Steakhouse offers great views of City Hall. If your man is into sharing, there’s the delicious bone-in Australian Black Angus Tomahawk which is a huge portion (over a kilo at $125, portion for 2).
