Tried and Tested: Date Night at Aura

Looking for a last-minute Christmas or New Year’s dining option? Or perhaps just the perfect date night spot? Either way, head to Aura, mama!

Situated on the 5^th and 6^th Floor of the recently opened National Gallery, Aura is an very stylish restaurant to visit for any special occasion. They offer private events, too!

Celebrating our wedding anniversary, I was running through the usual picks on the other side of the bay – and then I came across Aura. I’d been meaning to try it out for a while and what more perfect occasion!

Awesome views: Start with a cocktail (happy hour runs 5pm-8pm) in the sky lounge to check out those fab views and to catch the MBS light show. It’s so nice to see the Singapore skyline we all know and love from a different angle. I actually think this is the best angle!

Then head downstairs to the beautiful restaurant…

We took advantage of the fab Christmas and New Year 4 course set menu. For $88++, you start with a beautiful basket of bread served with oil and balsamic, followed by a wonderfully presented crab salad with smoked salmon and Cucumber tartare, then Caserecce pasta with truffle pesto.

My favourite course, the third, was a choice of Turkey or Sea bass (both excellent). You finish it all off with a Christmas log cake with candied cherries. Beautiful presentation, and full of flavour!
