Nestled within the lush Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree integrates with its natural surroundings. The resort was built around the existing trees of the area, keeping every single one of them intact. Even the wings of the resort are elevated so the local wildlife can still move around freely!

Your nature escape begins the moment you arrive at Mandai Rainforest Resort, where a majestic 12-meter-tall raintree – complete with an umbrella-shaped canopy – welcomes you. Both the rain tree and the Indian Beach tree at the entrance were preserved in their original locations. Inside the lobby, nature-inspired lighting and furniture crafted from upcycled wood further amplifies the resort’s commitment to coexisting seamlessly with Mandai Rainforest Resort’s surrounding ecosystem.

The 338 rooms at Mandai Rainforest Resort are inspired by the surrounding rainforest. You’ll find beautiful artwork depicting the different layers of the forest and antique drawings of animals like the lesser mousedeer, white-collared kingfisher, and Sumatran flying dragon – which are all creatures native to Singapore. Starting from 388 square feet, the rooms are relatively spacious and naturally ventilated, with ambient room temperatures regulated to mirror the cool atmospheric temperatures of tropical rainforests.

We think it’s pretty cool that the rooms at Mandai Rainforest Resort also have eco-friendly features such as a system that collects rainwater for flushing toilets. There’s also an interactive display that shows power consumption levels where you’ll receive gentle reminders if you exceed the recommended usage.

The highlight of Mandai Rainforest Resort has to be its stunning treehouses! Inspired by the seed pods of the Purple Millettia, these treehouses are larger than the regular rooms and come with private patios, offering breathtaking views of either the scenic Upper Seletar Reservoir or lush greenery at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. What makes them extra special is that each treehouse in Mandai Rainforest Resort hovers above the ground, making you feel like you’re actually living among the treetops!

Mandai Rainforest Resort features 24 treehouses, split into two room types – the Mandai Treehouse and the Grand Mandai Treehouse. The Grand Mandai Treehouse is more spacious, accommodating up to three guests and offering views of Upper Seletar Reservoir.
