Cock-a-doodle-do! It’s time to rise and snap up the cutest kids’ looks for CNY before they’re all gone, mama!
Chinese New Year is less than a month away, mama. Between family reunions and school celebrations, you know you’ve got to get your little ones decked out in their CNY finery. From too-cute panda and pineapple prints to cheeky rooster-themed Chinoiserie, we’ve rounded up our fave kids’ looks for CNY 2017. You just might find some cute matching dresses for mamas in our gallery, too!
This boutique homegrown brand offers gorgeous pieces for the whole family; we love the subtle details on their men’s shirts (which coordinate perfectly with the bolder prints for little boys and girls), while the Cut-out Cheongsam for mamas is nothing short of stunning. (They even do custom pieces for nursing mamas – amazing!) All their fabrics are breathable, soft and kid-friendly. They’re also handpicked and imported from Southeast Asia and the U.S. – and the quality shows!

As ever, these French-inspired pieces feature impeccable construction and beautiful fabrics that will have kiddos excited to be wearing their special party dress (or mandarin-collar shirt for boys). If you want to go a little less traditional, their vibrant red tulle dresses are sure to be a hit, mama.

OMG, this year’s pineapple print (available for both boys and girls) might be our favourite of the bunch, although all of Chubby Chubby’s prints are bright and vibrant (who doesn’t love a good pastel chevron pattern?!). Bonus points for the super stylish (and slightly more subdued) range of tops for mamas.

Elly is a stalwart on our annual Cheongsam list, and with good reason – their prints are always playful and oh-so adorable on babies and kids (pandas – need we say more?). We’re especially loving their cool turquoise colour palette this year as well; does that gold gingko leaf print come in mama’s size?

These simple, timeless silhouettes are great for minimalist mamas who want a break from bright prints. And the lilac linen cotton used in the oh-so chic Fen Dress is absolutely gorgeous.

A great option for coordinated looks for the whole fam, MIXÔN Minis is all about the jewel tones this year with gorgeous shades of emerald blue, ruby red and amethyst purple. And just for good measure they’ve got some awfully cute (non cheongsam) red dresses for little girls!

Calling all aspiring trendsetters! For our money there’s nothing cooler on the market this year than Sea Apple’s Cactus Flower Liberty Print Cheongsam, from its stylish open-pleat cut to its bold and unexpected colour palette. They’ve got a number of other cool pastels for boys and girls aged 0-6, too!

This Aussie import continually bowls us over with their cool and stylish seasonal collections, and their fun picks for CNY are no exception: kiddos will love the rooster-themed tee-shirts (and the super-adorable rooster bag that’s perfect for stashing red packets). And anyone dressing a little girl is sure to go gaga for the bold red-and-gold star print skirt, which takes the tulle trend to another level.
