BabyPost Category - BabyBaby - Post Category - BreastfeedingBreastfeeding

The best nursing rooms in Singapore that’ll give you a little peace and quiet while breastfeeding.

Cruising the streets of Singapore with the under-1 set means knowing where the nearest nursing rooms are, because when a baby is hungry and needs changing there’s no time to lose, mama! So while this list is by no means exhaustive, it does provide a good starting point to help you find the Best Breastfeeding Rooms in Singapore for feeding and changing your baby… in peace.

313@Somerset: head to basement 3, level 1 or level 5
Relaxing, soothing and comfortable, the nursing rooms at 313 are decorated in neutral tones and have a ton of space for mamas and their sprogs. Curtains separate changing stations from nursing areas, dads and kiddos can relax in the comfy waiting area and there’s even a microwave (should you need it).313@Somerset, 313 Orchard Road, Singapore 238895BHG Bugis: head to level 3
Housing two roomy nursing cubicles, places to change nappies, as well as all the usual swag BHG Bugis offers a beautifully designed family room. Unfortunately the nursing cubicles do not come with a door lock, only curtains that are all too easy for other mamas to peek through.BHG Bugis, 230 Victoria Street, #03-01 Bugis Junction, Singapore 188024Compass Point: head to level 4
With two nursing rooms, two changing stations and washbasins, the nursing cubicles in Compass Point are private (thanks to those lockable doors we love so much) and have a homely feel (thanks to walls that are covered in colourful animal paintings). While it may be somewhat lacking in amenities, having the children’s loos located right next-door makes it super helpful for mamas with older kids that also need attending to.

Forum Shopping Mall: head to level 1
This vintage inspired, European-style nursing room is aesthetically pleasing with a calm and private atmosphere. A large heavy curtain separates two nursing armchairs (no separate lockable nursing rooms unfortunately) so mamas can enjoy some form of privacy, plus there’s also a changing table and power sockets available if needed. It’s a shame however that there’s no seated waiting area for dad!

Great World City: head to basement 1 or level 1
Spacious and all encompassing, the beautifully decorated nursing rooms at Great World City have two separate nursing cubicles, each with a table, armchair and two changing tables (they even come with hanging musical mobiles to keep bubs entertained — clever). Each room also provides a power socket, washbasin and hot water dispenser, with lockable doors adding to a mama’s privacy. While you can fit your stroller inside, the hubstar will have to wait outside, as unfortunately there’s no waiting area inside.

IMM: head to level 2
Well stocked with everything a mama needs to get the job done, IMM’s family rooms are clean and spacious, with enough room to fit in the pram and still have enough space for the papas to wait around too. Lockable doors afford extra privacy for breastfeeding mamas, with baby holders available if you need to prop older babies up.

IMM, 2 Jurong East Street 21, Singapore 609601

ION Orchard: head to every level (except basement 3)
Sleek like the shopping mall itself, ION Orchard gives mamas basic but well-equipped family rooms complete with diaper-changing stations, nursing benches, hot water, bottle warmers, power points and washbasins. Big enough to fit a few strollers inside, the only downside here is they’re super busy on weekends so it can be a bit painful trying to find a nursing room that is actually free.

JEM: head to basement 1 or level 5
A newbie on the shopping block, JEM’s kept parents in mind when designing their family room, with loads of space for nursing and diaper changing! With all the expected amenities, they’ve even cleverly added a children’s loo so mamas can help bigger kids as well.

Liang Court: head to basement 1
Having recently overhauled their baby change rooms, Liang Court offers parents private nursing cubicles, baby holders (for wriggly babies), change tables, power points and hot water. While there’s no waiting area for parents, the rooms are kept relatively clean making it a comfortable experience for mamas.

Pleasantly decorated and nice and clean, Marina Bay Shoppes’ nursing rooms have sinks, baby seats and power points for new mamas. While there’s not a massive amount of space inside, you do have everything you need to get bubs fed — pronto.

Paragon: head to level 3 or level 5
Housing several nappy-changing spots, separate breastfeeding cubicles (with door locks so you can rest assured no one will come busting in while you’re nursing bubs) and hot water, these beautifully designed breastfeeding rooms allow mamas to nurse in a relaxed atmosphere. Diaper disposal bags are also neatly laid out (bonus points for organisation!), power sockets are available for a bit of recharging action and mamas can pamper baby with complimentary baby moisturisers. Only downer is these rooms can get rather busy on weekends and public holidays… boo!

Paragon, 290 Orchard Road, Singapore 238859

Takashimaya: head to level 4
An old favourite for their plush nursing rooms, hide out here to access multiple diaper-changing stations (all with individual mats) and five comfortable nursing cubicles with plenty of space to bring a stroller inside. If you’re travelling with the entire entourage, older kids (and dads) can hang about in the seating area and watch a bit o’ TV. Hot water and washbasins complete the offerings for breastfeeding mamas.

Nursing-Rooms_Tanglin-Mall

Tanglin Mall: head to level 3
When you’re a mama in Singapore, it’s inevitable that you’ll end up at Tanglin Mall at some point… so it’s lucky that their nursing rooms are so cosy and inviting. You can expect all the usual amenities here mama, with cushy armchairs and separate nursing rooms (with locks!) making the breastfeeding-and-nappy-changing experience a (hopefully) easy one.

Tanglin Mall, 163 Tanglin Road, Singapore 247933

United Square: head to level 1
It’s easy to see why the nursing rooms in United Square get particularly busy on weekends – with plenty of space for families, three separate nursing cubicles (with lockable doors), comfy armchairs, plus a spacious seating area for papas to sit down and errr… offer support. There’s also hot water dispensers, sinks, highchairs and power sockets to sort you out. We especially love that it’s easy for several families to use the facilities at the same time and not feel like they’re squeezed one on top of the other.
