AiFOKATO has opened its second outlet at Amoy Street, but this one is a little different. Unlike its first Telok Ayer takeaway bar, this is the brand’s first proper cafe concept, with plenty of seating designed for longer coffee breaks, catch-ups and laptop sessions.
There are plenty of plugs around, plus no time limit, so this could be one to keep in mind when you need somewhere to work outside the office. The space itself has a Korean Hanok-inspired look, with warm timber, greenery and a skylit outdoor area.
Coffee-wise, we’d recommend the Gelato Shakerato if you prefer sweeter coffees. It’s made with espresso shaken over ice until frothy, then finished with a scoop of gelato. It starts with a bold, chilled coffee hit before the gelato melts into the drink and makes it creamier and sweeter.
And if you’re after a regular coffee, the new menu starts at $4 for Espresso and includes Americanos, lattes, Matcha Latte and Chocolate Latte.
The balcony is definitely the prettier spot for photos, although it can get pretty warm around noon. And if you’re planning to stay for a while, the clean toilet is another small but appreciated plus.
