Let the Entertainer take you to all of Singapore’s best restaurants, spas, and attractions… at half price!

Whether you’re catching up with your girlfriends over lunch, sweating out said lunch with a good workout, or bonding with your kiddos, it’s safe to say that life is more fun when you’ve got someone to share it with. This month, the Sassy Mama team took this to heart, fanning out across Singapore to test out some of the fabulous 1-for-1 offers available from the Entertainer.

From lunch at one of Keong Saik’s hottest restaurants, to rejuvenating Pilates on Dempsey Hill, we were swinging from the trees (literally!) with glee over our 50% savings. Here’s just a small taste of the kind of 1-for-1 fun you can have, mama:

#1: Lunch at LUXE Sydney

The offer: Buy one item off the main menu, get the second item (of equal or lesser value) for free!

I’ve recently joined the hard working team at Sassy Mama and, as with any new job, it’s been a pretty hectic but fulfilling first few weeks learning the ropes while balancing mama-hood with my very active 1- year-old! So when the Entertainer gave me and Managing Director, Emilie, a chance to try out Keong Saik Road newcomer Luxe Sydney, we jumped at the opportunity to bond over a delicious lunch!

Luxe Sydney has had press mentions as “the prettiest restaurant in Singapore” and I can honestly say it is living up to its reputation, with its inviting white-oak-Scandinavian-minimalist interior instantly putting you at ease and ready for warm conversation over good grub! Service was fab, the atmosphere unpretentious and our food came out rather quickly — key for a lunch catch-up in the city.

Emilie and I ordered three dishes to share: the signature Luxe beef burger; Luxe goat cheese, avocado & tomato plate; and the quinoa & beetroot falafels. It was the perfect combination to fill two hungry mamas on a reasonable budget – no food was wasted in the making of this lunch! Luxe Sydney certainly gets our vote as a top-notch resto with a laid-back vibe – perfect for a friendly lunch for two!

#2: Beginner Reformer Class at Power Moves Pilates

The offer: 1-for-1 classes at Power Moves Pilates (including one week of unlimited Pilates Reformer classes, one week of unlimited Mat Work classes and One Duet class)

I’ve long been a Pilates devotee, but I have to hand it to Power Moves instructor Rechelle – she totally had me sweating (and my core and legs aching) during her awesome “Beginner Reformer” Class. I’ve forever been singing Pilates’ praises to my boss, Sassy Mama founder Hester, so it was great to see how she managed her first time on a gliding reformer machine (no easy feat!) and then compare notes afterward. The studio is set in the lushest Dempsey Hill location – all you see when you look out the windows are flowers and lots of green leaves, how rare is that in Singapore?! – and there are two super cosy chill-out spots with comfy couches that are perfect for lounging or catching up on emails. (They also have a second, central location in Novena.) With just five people in our class, we each got heaps of personal attention – it’s totally the perfect way to start off your day (and then afterwards pop next door for some retail therapy at Cuckoo). Mama fitness date-approved!

The Entertainer - Forest Adventure

#3: Mother & Son Bonding at Forest Adventure

The offer: 1-for-1 admission to Forest Adventure (regularly $46 per person)

I had a great time bonding with my 11-year-old son, Chauncey, at Forest Adventure. It took us 2.5 hours to get through the treetop obstacle course together, and that was something we have never done before (it was always his father’s job, oops!). After completing the course – which includes ropes, swings, ladders, and a zip line – I came to realise that it wasn’t nearly as bad as I’d feared! I really enjoyed having the opportunity to challenge myself and be reminded that nothing is impossible; it was nice to be able to show my son this, too!

The Entertainer - Longtail

#4: Sunset Drinks & Nibbles at Longtail

The offer: 1-for-1 on all main menu items

Longtail Asian Brasserie and Bar has an amazing location at Customs House on Marina Bay, a huge draw since it’s just a hop from the city for that much-needed after work drink. Even if you cannot get a seat outside to admire the view, inside the restaurant is just as pretty. My mother-in-law and I very much enjoyed beautifully crafted cocktails and tasty Asian bites, served by friendly and attentive wait staff. Their Antarctica G&T’s were a perfect sundowner!
