Culture vultures at the ready, mamas! We already love the “Saturdays@ACM” program that the Asian Civilisations Museum puts on the first Saturday of each month – families and kids get free access all afternoon to the museum and exhibitions, with specially-themed storytelling, crafts and performances.

We especially love the “Supersized Holiday Special” set for this Saturday, 6 December. Activities are split into three categories: Discover, Explore and Create. Kids can begin with some quiet reading and relaxation in the reading corner, or start things with a bang making their own festive ornaments.

Littlies can really and truly deck the halls of the gorgeous museum with wishing stars, or listen to “Tantalising Tales” by the Friends of the Museum Story Whisperers (set to start at 3pm).

On the Discover front, carollers from The Pioneer Voices will spread good cheer at 2:30 and 4:30pm, while popular kids’ theatre company act3 International will put on a play about the joys of giving at 2pm and 4pm.

“Saturdays@ACM” is a great way to expose the kiddos to the fascinating culture and unique history of the region, while also letting them get hands-on and explore through creativity. And they’ll even come away with a Christmas ornament. Everybody wins!

Saturdays@ACM runs from 1-5pm the first Saturday of each month.
