FLEXA – Fab Kids’ Furniture Created by Experts & Tested by Kids

Family LifePost Category - Family LifeFamily Life

This stunning Scandinavian furniture for kids is so fantastic, we wish it came in our size!

A child’s room is a sanctuary for them to play during the day and mellow out when the sun goes down. Their furniture should scream fun, evoke their imagination and most importantly be safe for them. FLEXA helps mamas furnish their kiddos’ rooms with the best possible bedroom solutions that will last throughout the childhood years!

Founded in Denmark in 1972, this Scandinavian-inspired label designs contemporary interiors for babies and children that are safe, playful and sustainable. On top of creating a stimulating environment for the little ones to tell their stories, the furniture adapts and transforms to meet your child’s ongoing developmental needs.

Buying a FLEXA bed is the first step to other combinations that you can choose, such as creating a play den underneath the bed. By adding a ladder and leg kit with awesome play curtains (think circus, knight, forest and princess themes among others), your child’s bed instantly transforms into a fun playground. Another option is to add a second bed and bunk bed kit to create space for your second child (also perfect for sleepovers!).

The environment of the northern latitude (where FLEXA wood comes from) produces excellent fibre structure and greater mass in trees, creating superior wood that contains only a few knots. FLEXA also uses eco-friendly UV-lacquer, which is free from solvents and toxic colorants. It’s very hard wearing and tolerates even the roughest treatment, mama. This makes FLEXA beds robust and more resistant to signs of wear, tear and even the bites of a toddler!

FLEXA textiles bear the OEKO-Tex mark, which makes them safe for the kids to use every day without worry. FLEXA furniture is not just functional and beautiful to look at – every piece meets strict international standards (including PEFC) for sustainable forest management.

With a team of designers, child development advisors and technical experts working together to develop these high-quality bedroom solutions, mama you can be confident that every FLEXA purchase you make will bring comfort and enjoyment into your kids’ bedrooms. Just be warned: it might be tough to pry the kids away from the store since there are slides and so many fun play dens to explore!

Sassy Mama about town with her mini-me #sosassy girl. A venture to Clarke Quay and taking in some sights. How cool and colourful is this building? It's the Old Hill Street Police Station and home to the Ministry of Communications and Information and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth. A stunning 1930s colonial building located on River Valley Road. Worth a 📸 in front of!

Sassy Mama DIY: Raincloud Mobile⠀
Swipe left for a step by step guide with instructions below.⠀
⠀
Materials needed: Recycled Cereal Box, Egg Carton, Blue Acrylic Paint, Paintbrush, Cotton Balls, String, White Glue, Scissors, Pencil, Hole Puncher, Pen and White Paper (optional)⠀
⠀
Step 1: Cut cups off the egg cartons, paint the outsides of the cups blue. Once done, place it aside to allow them to dry.⠀
⠀
Step 2: Open and flatten your cereal box. Using the pen or pencil draw a cloud on one side, then cut out. You can paste a sheet of white paper on both sides to cover up the design of the cereal box (optional). Punch a hole in the centre at the top of the cloud and some holes at the bottom (the number of holes depends on how many raindrop strands you want to attach).⠀
⠀
Step 3: Glue cotton balls all over the cloud. Remember to leave the holes you have punched uncovered, and glue the cotton balls close together.⠀
⠀
Step 4: Once the egg carton cups are completely dry, use your pencil to poke holes in the top. Then string them together. String the cups from bottom up, leaving about 5-10 cm of additional string at the top. This will make it easier for you to attach the raindrop strands onto the cloud.⠀
⠀
Step 5: Tie your raindrop strands onto the bottom holes of your cloud, cut off any additional string. Attach string to the hole on top, this will allow you to hang your completed raincloud mobile wherever you wish! Taadaaa!
