With an innovative preschool and childcare, cool new business space for parents, and a huge indoor play space and family club, Trehaus at City Hall is set to redefine ‘work-life balance’
Here at Team Sassy we are always striving for that ever-elusive work-life balance (if anyone knows where to find it, please tell us!). Yet while we all know the struggle is real, we also know that working parents = happy, successful kiddos. We’ve been huge fans of Trehaus, Singapore’s first family-friendly co-working space, ever since it opened on Orchard back in 2016. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to share the news about the next exciting chapter in the Trehaus story: Trehaus at City Hall.
Housed in the fully renovated Funan in the heart of the CBD, Trehaus at City Hall will offer a brand new concept tailor-made for working parents and their kiddos, highlighted by their innovative Silicon Valley-inspired childcare centre and preschool, along with a business club and hot desks for parents, and a cool new family membership club (open seven days a week!) with play spaces and a café.
Trehaus has always offered unmatched parental proximity with an on-site creche, beautiful play space, and nursery programs. We love having the ability to work or have a meeting, then pop by to nurse our baby or eat lunch with our kiddo. The amazing new Trehaus School will take things to the next level: offering infant care (from 2 months of age), early years programs, and a fully accredited preschool up through K2, it’s tasked itself with the lofty goal of changing early education by focusing on building character and future skills, while also giving parents the amazing gift of being present for their children’s learning journey.
So what does “Silicon Valley-inspired” mean, exactly? Trehaus School has been created by a team of professional early childhood educators from around the world – including the renowned Bing Preschool on the Stanford University campus – and will draw on a range of leading pedagogies to create a tailored program that will place character and individuality at the heart of development in hopes of raising change-makers.
With the capacity to accommodate 100 children, Trehaus School will offer mixed-age learning in an engaging, open-plan setting. With a nurturing 1:5 class ratio and a “teachers as co-parents” philosophy, the curriculum will feature innovative offerings like “Little Engineer” to introduce future skills like coding and robotics; “Little CEO” to develop leadership and executive skills; “Little Entrepreneur” to instill problem-solving, design-thinking and entrepreneurial skills; and “Little Philanthropist” to encourage empathy and nurture a desire to give back to society.
Under the watchful eye of experienced Head of School Carolina Sam, Trehaus School will also offer both bilingual learning and Mandarin immersion, along with a variety of super fun enrichment activities like gardening, cooking, and even music production!
Trehaus for Parents
The new location in the heart of the city will make it easier than ever for parents to stay connected with professional commitments while also staying involved in their children’s learning journey. And Trehaus isn’t just for freelancers and entrepreneurs – it’s also got an innovative corporate membership programme for working professionals within SMEs and MNCs that are trying to promote a work-life balance. Companies now have a cost-effective solution to provide their hard-working employees with flexible work arrangements and family-friendly benefits. Trehaus Family Club
Adding yet another dimension to facilitating quality time between parents and children, the gorgeous new family club will provide 2,000 square feet of space to learn and play together throughout the week. With everything from an indoor play space to a café, private events, themed workshops, themed play dates, and curated camps and enrichment programmes (including football, Mandarin, music and coding), Trehaus Family Club is sure to live up to its motto as ‘a place where children are busy and parents are happy’!
The indoor play area will have everything from a sandpit to a beach caravan, glamping tents, and a veritable treasure trove of creativity-sparking toys for all ages. Mamas and Dads, meanwhile, can sip on freshly brewed coffee and enjoy healthy gourmet meals at the café, or even nip over to the office hot desks right next door!
