Need a staycation without the kids? Mama George takes you through the perfect overnight getaway at the resort-like W Singapore – Sentosa Cove

It’s not often we get the chance to indulge sans enfants – so when the chance arises (grandparents in town, sleepover invite, what have you)… you grab it!  You don’t want to have to think too much about it – or move around wasting precious time. You want it all in one place!

My husband and I chose W Singapore – Sentosa Cove for a recent staycation, and we were not disappointed!

Situated at Sentosa Cove, next to a plethora of lovely cafes, restaurants and shops, the resort overlook the wonderful yachts and boats that line the quay. It feels like a little holiday village!

Start off your staycation at the renowned Away SpaThere is a reason this spa has so many people talking about it – the couples room is fabulous, and the massage and scrub were insanely relaxing!

Post-spa – sleepy and chilled  – snag some seats by the pool and grab 40 winks. Then swim up to the bar for a mid-afternoon juice (or cocktail).

In terms of accommodation, our 40m“Fabulous Room” had a great view of the marina – and it was so nice to have a bath with no interruptions, then sit on the balcony and watch the boats go by! W rooms are renowned the world over for their ultra-comfy beds and pillow menus, and I also love the deluxe set of Bliss toiletries you’ll find in the bathroom. They carry these in the spa, too!

Come the evening, head down to the funky WOOBAR for pre-dinner cocktails. Take a seat in the iconic swing chairs, then decide where to head for supper! Of course, there only is one answer to that: SKIRT, a modern day answer to a steakhouse, situated in the hotel too. Here, prime cuts of droolworthy steak are cooked on the parilla grill, centre stage. It’s an experience not to be missed! We loved the extra little touches, too, like the shot of gazpacho mid-course and the Singapore Sling Ice Lolly to end the meal!

The next morning, be sure to have a lie in. Yes, that’s right: LIE IN! Don’t rush to get up, plus and breakfast served until 10am means you have more then enough time to catch up on years of lost ZZZZZZZ’s and still savouring the delights of The Kitchen Table’s buffet breakfast.

Can we have another night please? It was just too good!
