Mamas around the island are buzzing about Taste, a brand new gourmet grocer at Raffles Holland V. We’ve got the lowdown on what’s sure to become your new gourmet destination, mama!
I am totally blown away by this amazing new foodie store in the heart of Holland Village.
Taste, located in in the new Raffles Medical building, literally has it all! Plus – mama bonus – the wide, stroller-friendly space gets an extra tick from us!
Fab finds: Spinelli coffee (just $1 per cup throughout the month of April mama!); gorgeous blooms from Floral Atelier by Yi Lian Ng; Bakery, Seafood and Oyster Counters; a Butchery; a Cheese Room; great wines; Health and Beauty and daily household items; grocery and SENS Japanese dining. Yes, this is all under one roof!
The buying team have done a fabulous job of bringing together the finest food from around the world.
I was particularly impressed with the DOI vegetables from the Royal Thai Foundation – a charity set up by the former King of Thailand to help Northern Thai communities farm – and to help them sell their produce around the world. The portobello mushroom I tasted was superb – and the price was quite affordable.
I was also bowled over by the fresh fruit flown in (in-season only) from around the world. No two weeks will have the same selection; I particularly loved the new hybrid Apple/Pear! A Papple! What kid would refuse a Papple?!
Another must-try: Frisch Seafood oysters with Russian Caviar House caviar, all washed down with vodka, of course. The cute little Oyster bar is destined to become a Saturday afternoon must-do.
Organic, Gluten free, and all things fresh… you name it, they have it. This store is my new foodie hang out!
Taste Singapore is open now, but officially launches on the 28th April. In fact, the first 100 customers to spend $100 on April 28th will receive a free membership card! And next time you need a perk-up in Holland Village, don’t forget $1 Spinelli coffee for the rest of the month!
