So much to do and so much to play at SmartKids Asia, Asia’s largest educational kids fair!

Have you got a mini Picasso or a budding writer in your home mama? How about a very convincing story-teller? Get their creative juices flowing while learning through play and exploration at SmartKids Asia 2017, happening from 17 to 19 March, 2017 at Singapore Expo.

This year, SmartKids Asia has lined up new activities and contests to complement its most popular segments. The 2-day Straits Times Young Storymakers Camp will make its debut to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the fall of Singapore. Participants (9-12 year olds) will travel back in time as war reporters, thread through Singapore’s rich history, and learn news reporting techniques from The Straits Times journalists.

Mama, if you have children ages between 5-12 years old, consider joining the experts to pick up some parenting tips and useful information at The Straits Times Parenting Masterclasses seminar.  These one-hour sessions, which can be taken as a single masterclass or a series, cover some interesting topics such as understanding how the brain works, coaching your child in subjects like English and Mathematics, inculcating critical reading skills in them and how positive psychology can support you in your journey as parents.

Art lovers can sign up for the Stabilo Junior Colouring Contest (5-8 year olds) or the SmartKids Asia Art Contest (9-12 year olds) and see their drawings come to life. Cheer kiddos on as they show off their hidden talents at SmartKids Asia Talent Time. As a new stage segment, Talent Time is for children to display their skills and talents in dancing, singing or playing an instrument for the coveted title of ‘SmartKids Asia Talent Time’ champion!

Your kids’ favourite characters from My Little Pony and Pororo and Friends will appear at meet and greet sessions. Mamas can also take the opportunity to test out free trial classes from educational and enrichment providers at the fair. Over at SmartKids Asia Storyland, little ones will enjoy timeless classics in the form of theatrical plays and storytelling such as Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and so much more mama!

The engine of learning is definitely play so head over to the activity area to take part in some hands-on activities specially crafted for parents and children (3-7 years old). You can also bond with your kiddos as they put on their creative hats in puppet-making and printmaking. Fun!

Children will love the popular SmartKids Asia’s Fun Passport. Once they’ve completed activities from different pit stops, they’ll get a chance at winning exclusive prizes at the prize wheel. There are also 500 goodie bags (each worth up to $50) for the first 500 registrants per day! Visitors also get one chance in the lucky draw with every receipt of purchase.

Prizes, enrichment, hands-on creativity and our kids’ favourite characters come to life? There’s our weekend sorted! See you at the fair, mama!
