As parents, it’s only natural to want your child to enjoy learning Mandarin. The Cultural Playground exposes kids to the beauty of the language and culture in a fun and low-pressure environment with interactive play-based experiences.

Get tickets to ‘The Legend of Nezha’, a puppetry performance by Paper Monkey Theatre, featuring exquisitely handcrafted rod puppets, dragon dance, live martial arts and original music by Flame of the Forest and Govin Tan. Bring your kids to ‘The Nursery Rhymes Project 4 Official Launch’ by The Theatre Practice, to sing along to Mandarin nursery rhymes that many of us grew up with.

Engaging experiences & free activities for the whole family

This experience isn’t just for the kids–it’s for the parents, too! Sign up for their parent-child workshops to create precious memories with the kids and experience the beauty of Chinese culture. Introduce your little ones (18 months and under) to local Mandarin nursery rhymes with ‘Little Boat, Silver Moon’, a multi-sensory experience that uses evidence-based pedagogy to lay the foundation of learning Mandarin for the youngest learners.

At the ‘Traditional Chinese Rod Puppet Parent-Child Workshop’, you’ll get to learn about the art of traditional Chinese rod puppetry and animate it using movement and character expressions. If you have a sweet tooth, join the interactive storytelling cum food-making workshops, where you can make your own bowl of cendol, Yan-Yan-inspired biscuits or kueh lapis sagu and enjoy it with the kids!

There will also be free activities including ‘My Little Chingay Float’s’ storytelling sessions and a pop-up exhibition, face painting and temporary tattoos for kids! Want to learn how to make Chinese fun for the kids? Sign up for ‘Story Magic: One Book, Many Ways’, an interactive parental talk to learn practical tips on how to make learning Chinese fun and engaging through integrating it with everyday life.

Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to create memories with the kids and give them the chance to engage with the Chinese language and culture in a memorable way. So, save the date and click here to get tickets for the whole family!
