It’s tea time! Sip and snack for a cause, mama, with a limited-time tea at Goodwood Park Hotel

Keen to have one of Singapore’s famous teas for a special treat, mama? During the month of October, The Goodwood Park Hotel is offering a pretty-in-pink English Afternoon Tea in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. It’s more than just a pretty face, though: these rose-coloured delights are delicious and satisfying, and make for a lovely ladies’ lunch or special treat with your mini-me.

Offered at the lobby cafe L’Espresso, the tea will be raising money for Singapore’s Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF): each guest who dines at the English Afternoon Tea during October will receive a Breast Cancer Foundation pink ribbon pin worth $2. The hotel will donate the total value of pins given out to the BCF; visitors can also pick up pinks or make donations at the Deli across the lobby.

The pinkness applies to much more than just desserts; we were delighted by delectable savouries like Beetroot smoked salmon, Garlic cream cheese finger sandwiches with cranberry and walnut, and Atlantic shrimp cocktail with raspberry aioli. Sometimes teas aren’t quite hearty enough at lunchtime, but our plates were heaving with mains like Potato, leek and bacon pie, Swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam, and fried chicken wings. We particularly liked the croissant sandwiches, especially the poached chicken with avocado and bacon.

But of course, tea and dessert are the true superstars. There are over a dozen TWG teas to choose from, headlined, naturally, by a tart and fruity “Pink Flamingo” green tea blended with crimson hibiscus flowers. As you might guess from the photos, some of our favourite desserts included the pink eclair, strawberry tartlet, and strawberry panna cotta. Little ones will be enthralled with the pink chocolate fountain, and we give two thumbs up to non-pink sweet treats like Green tea pistachio opera and and the baked cheesecake.

The Pink Tea is priced at the regular rate of $45 per adult and $22.50 per child from Monday to Thursday, and at $48/$24 from Friday to Sunday. In addition the free-flow buffet (seriously, so yummy mama!), the price includes two servings of coffee and tea. Naturally, pink Champagne is also available for toasting. Let’s raise a glass and fill our tummies for a good cause, mama!

The Pink Tea will be offered through 31 October at L’Espresso in the Goodwood Park Hotel lobby. The tea is offered from 2pm to 5pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 12 noon to 2:30pm (first seating) and 3pm to 5:30pm (second seating) Friday to Sunday.
