We’re huge fans of family travel here at Sassy Mama, but if we had to name the biggest challenge of traveling with kids, it’d probably be how difficult it is to pack light. Between strollers, toys, bottles, food and preparing for every illness eventuality, we sometimes long for the easy breezy days of tossing our stuff in a carry-on duffel and jetting off for the weekend. Which is why we were so delighted to hear that one of our very favourite hotels in the region – Sofitel So Bangkok – is now making mamas’ lives a little easier with complimentary access to Bugaboo strollers.That’s right, no more hassling with gate checks, or keeping your fingers crossed that your checked stroller doesn’t get lost (happened to us twice!) or damaged en route. And as an added bonus you can try out two different Bugaboo models: the iconic, lightweight Chameleon (right) and the stylish, “urban” Bee, which features a massive basket (perfect for toting souvenirs!) and a handy bassinet attachment for newborns.

Both are fab for negotiating crowded walkways, zipping in and out of shops and exploring one of the world’s most exciting and dynamic cities. The strollers are easy to collapse, making them ideal for jumping into taxis or public transport. It’s quite possible you’ll get stroller envy so bad you’ll want a Bugaboo of your own once you get home!

If you’ve never stayed at the Sofitel So, mama, we can’t recommend it highly enough. The rooms are stylish and spacious with great amenities, and the views overlooking the city and Lumpini Park are to-die-for. You’re within easy walking distance of the subway as well as the iconic rooftop bar and restaurant Vertigo (although the food on site – much with a French twist – is delicious).
