The Keys Academy can bring out the best 21st century skills in your child, with its interactive Saturday family workshop!

The Keys Academy is one of Asia’s most innovative STEM centres specialising in Science, Tech, Entrepreneurship and Math education. It’s all about enriching the learning experience and engaging our future leaders with interesting and creative classes. Want to give it a go? Well, we’ve got great news, mama: Keys is holding a full day of family workshops on Saturday, 16 April!

If creating something amazing with your little one sounds like just the kind of family fun you’re after, The Keys’ family workshops are your best bet for hands-on activities to show you and the kiddos the ins and outs of robotics, coding, and 3D printing. We’d say three skills in one workshop is pretty great value! What’s more, you might even discover a little business mogul in your midst!

The Keys Academy

There will be two unique workshops on Saturday, 16 April: Tech Star and Mini-MBA. Sign up and experience for yourself The Keys’ state-of-the-art facilities, all designed to support your bub’s grades through deep learning in creative classes, engagement with industry professionals and real world problem solving. Check out all the deets below!

Tech Star: Robotics, Coding & 3D Printing for Kids
Saturday, 16 April, 2016, 1-3pm, for ages 6-12

Three fascinating tech fields to explore in one workshop! The setting is a rural African village. The task? Improve the lives of the people through technology. To get a taste of both coding and robotics, students will learn how to program Dash robot to follow a water trail and then use sensors to search for a water source for the villagers. As a 3D printing activity, kiddos will learn how to use Autodesk123D to design a water container for Dash to carry the water back to the village. There will be two different groups – one for the  6-8 years olds, and the other for older kids aged 9-12. Parents and kiddos will get to complete these challenges together during an afternoon of hands-on technology fun – now the whole fam can learn how robots move or how a 3D printer works!

Mini-MBA: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, & Business Communications for Kids
Saturday, 16 April, 2016, 9-11am, for ages 6-12

The Keys’ unique Mini-MBA programme gets kiddos aged 6-8 and 9-12 years thinking outside the box, with each lesson revolving around real case studies to encourage your little one to build on their communication and leadership skills, plus flex their entrepreneurial muscles! In a “Hell in Keys’ Kitchen” activity, they’ll don a head chef’s hat to manage a kitchen. They’ll first learn the basics of risk-taking and profitability in a restaurant business, then it’s on to delegation skills. Finally, kids will plan and deliver a business pitch to a panel of judges to get funding for their restaurant concept in a “Dragon’s Den” business communication activity. Watch your kid become a management whiz right before your eyes!

If your youngest is huffing and puffing over all the cool activities their older siblings get to do, The Keys Academy also runs trial classes for 4-5 year olds, like the 3D Printing Mini on Saturdays from 9-10:30am and the Robotics Mini on Sundays from  9-10:30am.

It’s $40 for two hours of interactive fun for one workshop; if you bring a friend, you both get $10 off. “Can I sign up for both workshops?” you may ask. Well, yes you can and it’s amazingly only $60 for both!
