Sometimes even home cooks want to curl up on the couch with Netflix! Our Indian food expert shares her top 10 restaurants for the best Indian food for delivery (or dining-in!)
Sometimes us busy mamas need a break from the kitchen and a really relaxing night off! Cue an Indian food delivery and some Netflix…nothing like a good spicy curry and a chilled drink of choice to soothe all those parenting woes. And sure, you can order some naan and low-spice family-friendly items for the kids, too!
As the founder of Indian Spicebox I’m pretty fussy – or should I say particular – about my Indian food, and while I mostly focus on the healthy and homemade variety, even I (and my family) need a Butter chicken + butter naan restaurant-style fix every now and then! Here are some of my favourite restaurants for Indian food delivery in Singapore… of course you can eat in at most of these as well but they happen to be really great at takeout — quick, cheap and consistently yummy! And who wants to leave the couch anyway…
Pssst! If you’re looking to dine out, check out our guide to the best Indian restaurants in Singapore!

Khansama was my first takeout love in Singapore…one of the best chicken tikka masalas and butter chicken curries in town! They also do a mean kebab platter and some great tandoori breads. Their vegetarian curry selection is one of the best. You can call them directly or order online for delivery!
Khansama, 166 Serangoon Road, Singapore 218050, Tel: (+65_ 6299 0300, www.khansama.com.sg
This local joint on River Valley Road remains popular with local residents looking for a North Indian food fix, but they do have two other outlets as well (Suntec and Changi Business Park). They make some excellent daals (lentil curry), saag dishes (spinach) and tandoori items. Order directly online or through Deliveroo.

This is my family’s go-to at Robertson Quay (this branch is known as ‘Dabbawala by Curry Culture’) and we love the butter chicken (orange fingernail warning!), the seekh kebabs, the Kali daal (black daal) and butter naans. They have a number of outlets around Singapore and delivery via deliveroo is usually super quick!

With their Michelin Bib Gourmande accolades, Bismillah (technically Pakistani and not Indian) has become super popular and if you’re not in the mood to queue, then order in! It’s all about the biryani here and there are a few kebab options as well. Chill that beer and order away (most of the delivery vendors have this one on their list, depending where you live of course!).

Tucked away in the basement of Capitol Piazza, Nalan is a popular weekday lunch spot for the working crowd in the area. A little-known secret is that they are one of the few places to offer ‘Roomali Roti’ – a super thin, handkerchief like bread. Nalan is a pure vegetarian restaurant and their menu offers a wide variety of North Indian and South Indian dishes –the medu vadas are crisp and delicious, while the Idlis are soft as clouds! Order via deliveroo or foodpanda.
Nalan, #B2-54 Capitol Piazza, 13 Stamford Road, Singapore 178905, Tel: (+65) 6336 6404, www.nalan.com.sg
When you’re craving Indian street food like Pav Bhaji, Chana Bhatura or Chaat, KP is your best bet! Spicy, sweet, tangy…KP excels at street food and offers a pure vegetarian menu. While the restaurant in Little India is a nice spot to eat at, takeout via online ordering is super convenient and helps you avoid the Little India crowds! KP offers catering, too.

Most people don’t realise the absolutely delicious Indian food that is available in Haji Lane at the Singapura Club (previously located in Tiong Bahru, plus there’s another branch in Little India). Call and order the chicken biryani, the Railway Mutton and some delicious Indian breads for pick up or via foodpanda. They offer an amazing selection of Indian chai as well!
Singapura Club, 26 Haji Lane, Singapore, 189219 & 102 Dunlop St, Singapore, 209421, www.facebook.com/thesingapuraclub
Near i12 Katong mall, this restaurant is popular with our East Coast friends and does a great takeout offering. Popular dishes are samosas (yum!), cheese naan (yay for the kids), and they do a great butter chicken (hurrah!). Both online ordering and catering are available.

Okay this one is for the meat lovers and you have to promise to keep it a secret. This place has some really yummy and unique dishes (and I’m yet to try most of them) BUT there’s a biryani here that is just WOW…it’s called the Thallasseri Goat Meat Biryani (it’s in the ‘special’ section of their menu!). If you’re lucky enough to live within a 5km radius you can order through Grab Food or Deliveroo…otherwise you can always order over the phone and pick up!

A Little India mainstay since 1969, Muthu’s Curry has expanded to locations at Suntec City and Dempsey Hill, ensuring convenient delivery options via its handy online delivery system. Muthu’s original specialty is South Indian-style Fish Head curry, which isn’t the easiest takeaway order, but there are plenty of other tasty seafood and meat options cooked in the Chettinadu style. Muthu’s also serves up solid renditions of classic takeaway dishes like Masala Chicken (pictured above), samosas, dhal, palak paneer, and various vegetarian options.
