One Farrer Hotel has a Christmas takeaway menu with two returning signatures – a Salt-Encrusted Turkey ($158++ for 4kg) and Roasted Traditional Whole Turkey with Spices ($148++ for 4kg). Both will be served with sautéed bacon-thyme potato, butter-poached Brussel sprouts with chestnut and a zesty cranberry orange sauce and pan gravy.
One Farrer Hotel is also offering a Christmas with an Asian twist this year – perfect if you’re in the mood for something different for your holiday meal! Carve up the Smokey Hoisin-Barbecue Christmas Turkey ($148++ for 4kg), which is marinated in a decadent housemade Hoisin sauce before being smoked to perfection. The smoked skin is fragrant, and the meat is tender enough to fall off the bone. Complement your main course with an array of delectable sides such as mashed potato blended with creamy cheddar, butter-poached Brussels sprouts and chestnut, dipped in a tangy-sweet cranberry-orange compote.
If you’re bored of turkey being the star of your Christmas lunch or dinner, then swap it out for a generous portion of the Smokey Hoisin-Barbecue Chicken Pullet ($68++ for 1.6kg) or the Orange-Cinnamon Glazed Boneless Ham ($128++ for 2kg), which comes with irresistible sides like roasted maple-glazed sweet potato with sage, apple compote, and grain and Dijon mustard.
Christmas desserts: log cakes, stollen & Christmas gingerbread biscuits
Christmas isn’t Christmas if you’re not filling your table with holiday desserts. And you won’t even need to bake up a storm to deck out your festive dessert table because One Farrer has an assortment of log cakes to please. Enjoy the Chocolate Hazelnut Yule Log ($64++ for 1kg) – we love this cake’s rich milk chocolate mousse and crunchy hazelnut feuilletine and ganache! Or try the hotel’s locally-inspired take on the regular log cake: the Gula Melaka Chestnut Yule Gateau ($64++ for 1kg) features a decadent Gula Melaka moist sponge cake that’s filled with chestnut buttercream and milk chocolate chantilly atop a crunchy white chocolate base.
Stollen lovers can try One Farrer’s Chocolate Stollen – made with white and dark chocolate, it is lighter and less dense on the palate, and is generously dusted with icing sugar. Or cut yourself a slice of the Golden Logan & Pecan Nut Fruit Cake; this traditional Christmas treat is soaked in Grand Marnier for an extra layer of decadence.
Keep the holiday cheer going after the party is over with crunchy cookies. This year, One Farrer will retail Sea Salt Chocolate Cookies ($20++), Raisin Cookies ($20++) and Mocha Almond Cookies ($18++). Sold in tubs with 21 pieces, you can easily repack these into cute little gifts for your guests to take home (or just enjoy it with the fam as you binge on Christmas movies!). Alternatively, book a table at Escape and celebrate Christmas by the pool with the Festive Sharing Platter for three ($98++ per platter). Expect favourites like Beef Wellington, Roasted Half Spring Chicken, Baked Oysters (4 pieces), Grilled Sausages, served with Roasted Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus, Vine-Ripe Tomatoes, Crispy Kale, and tantalising sauces.
