Modern Steakhouse 665°F, the newest restaurant at Andaz Singapore makes the cut

665°F, is perched on level 38 of the new Andaz Singapore, a lifestyle hotel brand by Hyatt Hotels right behind the Gotham building where Atlas Bar is. Before you get to level 38 though, stop first at the stunning rooftop bar, Mr Stork where you’ll be rewarded with killer 360-degree views across Singapore (unless you are snuggled in one of their cute tepee tents on offer).

When you’re ready for dinner, head down to 665°F, a surprisingly intimate restaurant that’s almost like dining in a Chef’s kitchen. Interiors are richly masculine with hues of walnut, burgundy and copper yet the main attraction to feast your eyes on is the stellar view of Singapore. The kitchen is open plan with the famous Pira oven on show (the temperature for which the restaurant is named after). This is where all the meat magic happens.
Sous Chef Josephine Loke (who has worked at the likes of Pollen, Tippling Club, and Odette) steers the team through the menu’s outstanding dishes. Appetisers include must-trys of Lime-cured Hamachi with Charred Cucumber and Watermelon Radish ($29) and the creamy Hokkaido Scallop Ceviche in Lemon Vinaigrette ($39).

Meat is the main name of the game here, chargrilled in the Pira oven, which creates the flavour, aroma, juiciness and texture unique to an open-fire barbecue. Signature dishes include the Dry-aged, grass-fed Irish Ribeye 350g ($49); Dutch Milk-fed Veal Chop ($49); USA Prime Short Rib with Barbecue Glaze ($45) and the superb Australian Lamb Chops ($55) – a generous dish of three double lamb racks, the exteriors grilled to crusty perfection, yet tender and pink inside. Sides are extra and each dish is perfectly executed from tender green asparagus ($14) to straight-cut ships with herb aioli ($14).
Desserts ($28) are table centrepieces – they’re good for 2 to 4 to share. Baked Alaska layered with chocolate, berry and vanilla ice cream and drizzled with sauce makes quite a spectacular end to a meal.
