Looking for easy and cheap DIY kids' costumes for World Book Day? We…
![[𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘*] 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗧𝗼 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗚𝗼 (𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗼 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆!) 🌳🦢🇸🇬
The Istana Open House makes for a pretty lovely Sunday outing, especially if the kids need some room to roam! We spent a few hours exploring The Istana grounds, wandering through the gardens and even spotting swans. We went around noon and expected a long queue, but surprisingly, it wasn’t too bad.
You can also bring your own food and drinks for a picnic on the lawns. If you’d rather buy something there, food trucks and drinks are available, including Old Chang Kee, Swensen’s and State of Affairs. There are toilets on-site too, which is always good to know when you’re out with the kids!
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲:
- Bring a portable fan! It gets REALLY hot around noon
- You can wear T-shirts and shorts. We got in without any issues in ours.
- Pack your own food and drinks if you’d like to have a picnic.
- Keep an eye out for the swans and take some time to explore the Japanese Garden.
- Toilets are available on-site.
- The Main Istana Building was under renovation when we visited.
- The Prime Minister’s Office is off-limits to visitors.
