Kids’ Food Science-Themed STEAM Festival 2023

STEAM Installations at STEAM Festival 2023

The general admission ticket for the STEAM Festival 2023 includes entry to interactive installations on the digestive system and nutrition and a myriad of experiential festival partner booths. For a full afternoon of edu-tainment, opt for the Festival Workshop/Talk Bundle, which includes additional access to fun, food-themed workshops for children, families and educators alike! Kids will have a blast exploring the wide range of activities designed to inspire their curiosity and creativity in STEAM.

Immersive and Educational Installations
Take a captivating journey through the digestive system to discover what happens to food once it enters your body. Kids will learn about the importance of healthy eating habits and how a balanced diet keeps our bodies strong.

Experiential Activity Booths
From learning about the use of crickets as an alternative protein source to exploring the relationships between our diets and nature, kids will be inspired to embark on their own scientific explorations through food-themed games and engaging kitchen-science activities.

Fun Parent-Child Bonding Workshops:

If your kiddo wants to get stuck in with science experiments (yes baking and cooking are all part of science!) then you’ll want to book these separately ticketed workshops!

• Delcie’s Desserts and Cakes workshop: 4 November 2023, 3:15pm – 4pm
  Junior chefs aged 5 – 8 years old, get your parents to book you onto the Delcie’s Desserts and Cakes workshop so you can bake scrumptious treats with allergen-free and sugar-free ingredients to take home!
• Oh My Germ! 5 November 2023, 10am – 10:45am
  Did you know that there are good germs? Little ones aged 3 – 4 can book this hands-on workshop, to discover all about good germs and how they help to strengthen immunity, while creating a scrumptious Chobani yogurt parfait!
• Food Detectives – Sugar the Frenemy!: 5 November 2023, 11:15am – 12pm (3 – 5-year-olds) and 3:15pm – 5pm (5 – 8-year-olds)
  Calling all food detectives! Uncover the secrets of sugar with HaruPlate and learn how they affect our bodies, teeth and energy through a series of hands-on activities and experiments!
• Kopitiam Klass: 5 November 2023, 2pm – 2:45pm
  Older kids aged 5-8 can join this workshop where they’ll get to concoct a fizzy drink with dry ice and edible bubbles!

‘Magic Mee Goreng’ Puppet Performance

Wait, there’s more! ‘Magic Mee Goreng’ is an interactive puppet show that invites little ones to uncover the secrets behind the success of a Mee Goreng store. Kids will be delighted by an exciting puppetry performance with batik-inspired costumes and will get to participate in hands-on activities that will make this a memorable multi-sensory learning adventure about the science and joys of food.
