Now fully open: Rainforest Wild Asia is now expanded and officially known as Rainforest Wild Adventure! With its second phase now open, the Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s fifth zoological park is finally complete. From kid-friendly rainforest treks to adrenaline-filled adventures, here’s everything you need to know when visiting.
After a highly-anticipated year-long wait, Rainforest Wild Adventure is finally complete! Having previously launched its first phase, Rainforest Wild Asia back in 2025, this zoological park gained lots of eyeballs for its unique concept that combines a wildlife park experience with outdoor adventures (known as Adventure+ activities) you wouldn’t normally find in Singapore. We’re talking scaling the steep edges of towering karsts, crawling through a cave, jumping from a 20-metre-high platform, and lots more. Now, there are new, equally thrilling adventures to conquer at the new ‘Africa’ themed zone! Read on for our full guide on the new zone, as well as what to expect when visiting, tried-and-tested reviews of the Adventure+ experiences, and family-friendly tips for visiting.
Opening special: Admission tickets now come with up to nine Adventure+ activities included! Plus a $10 F&B and Retail voucher (T&Cs apply!)

Rainforest Wild Adventure: What’s new & must-knows before visiting

First, a little background as to how to navigate the two zones of Rainforest Wild Adventure. With the announcement of the name revamp and expanded zone, we initially thought that the new zone (previously announced as Rainforest Wild Africa) would be directly accessible or connected to Rainforest Wild Asia as an expanded area. But, it’s important to note that the two zones are in completely separate areas of the massive Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
Rainforest Wild Asia is now known as Rainforest Wild Adventure West, while the new area is now called Rainforest Wild Adventure East (yes, we found it a little confusing at first!). The West park is located near Bird Paradise, while the East zone is accessible through the same drop-off point and carpark as the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Curiosity Cove and Exploria. A single admission ticket gives you access to both parks, but you will need to take a shuttle bus, drive or walk over (it’s a 20-minute walk, they say) to get to the other park. The West park is also a lot bigger than the new East zone, with more walking trails to explore. That said, the Adventure+ activities at the West park are more complex and will likely take longer to conquer, while the Adventure+ activities over at the new East zone are a little more straightforward. Just be prepared for queues on the weekends!

In terms of aesthetics and vibes, both parks are pretty similar! It’s filled with dense greenery and you’ll hear the ambient songs of gibbons ringing occasionally in the background. We also love that both parks have elevated walkways that are stroller- and wheelchair-friendly. We were pleased to find that the new Rainforest Wild Adventure East has a fully-sheltered walkway, too, as opposed to the West park which has some sections that are not sheltered.
Family tips for visiting Rainforest Wild Adventure
– If you’re planning to do all the Adventure+ activities, you can easily set aside a full day for this, taking into account wait times and travelling between the two zones.
– Want to spot more animals? Avoid midday as many animals may be hiding from the hot sun. We recommend heading over as soon as the park opens, or in the evening when it’s not too hot.
– Sunscreen, insect repellent, umbrellas/ponchos and portable fans will help a tonne! There are drinking water stations around the parks, so bring a refillable bottle.
– Bring that stroller! The parks are well-equipped for families with stroller stations and stroller-friendly walkways.
– Wear covered sports shoes, especially if you’re planning to take on the Adventure+ activities.
Guide to the NEW Rainforest Wild Adventure East

It’s still a rainforest, but now inspired by Afro-tropical and Madagascan landscapes! The highlight? Five new adventure experiences and new wildlife to meet.
There are four main ‘zones’ at the Rainforest Wild Adventure East: the Riverine Forest where you can spot otters and pygmy hippos (we stan Moo Deng!); the Red Ravine which is the home of active African Painted Dogs and antelopes; the open aviary Lemur Land with some air-conditioned pockets to rest at; and the Hidden Forest that’s home to the star critter of the park: the beautiful, elusive okapi. We were lucky to spot two okapis on our visit here, and were surprised at how huge they were–kind of like mini-giraffes (which they are related to, we learnt!).

The East zone also features the signature Forest Treks. These trails are much shorter and easier than those in the West zone, and we found it much easier to spot animals from the trails in the East compared to the West. However, we did find that the West zone’s trails are comparatively more impressive, with more dynamic features like rivers and waterfalls. All still enjoyable, nonetheless!
New adventure experiences at Rainforest Wild Adventure East

The highlight of Rainforest Wild Adventure East, of course, is really the five new adventure experiences. Each experience comes at an extra cost of $10, but are currently included in all admission tickets as part of Rainforest Wild Adventure’s opening special.
Note that there is a height limit of 130cm for all of the experiences (except for the Canopy Glider which is 95cm), so take note if you’re heading over with kids. If you’re visiting with younger kids, don’t worry, there are some fun experiences for them, too (more on that later)! Covered shoes are also a must, but if you forget, there are rubber shoes the public can use at each experience. In any case, we reckon you’ll definitely want to be wearing socks for this. Most of the activities also require a signed waiver, which you’ll only need to fill up once in order to enjoy all the four activities that require them.
Canopy Glider

We love, love, love the Canopy Glider ($10)! Perhaps it’s because it’s an experience you can do while seated comfortably, but it allows you to get a bird’s-eye view of the park while sitting back and relaxing. It’s also the least “scary” experience, in our books. The ride is meant to emulate the feeling of a bird “gliding” through the park, and we’re happy to report that we could clearly spot some cool animals such as the massive estuarine alligator and the African Painted Dogs from the Canopy Glider!
Pro tip: You must book a timeslot for the Canopy Glider before heading up–you’ll find QR codes for this around the park, but we recommend doing it at the entrance of the park before you enter. Loose items are also not allowed, so if you wish to bring your handphone to snap pics, we recommend bringing a strap.
Primate Climb

The Primate Climb ($10) is basically the giant tree you’ll see soon after you enter Rainforest Wild Adventure East. It’s pretty much a rock-climbing experience that swaps rock walls for a man-made strangler fig tree.
Pro tip: This experience gives you 20 minutes of unlimited climbing time! There are three routes you can take to get up the tree, so plan your time wisely.
Ravine Swing

Pretty much a giant swing, the Raving Swing ($10) gives you the screams as you’re launched 8 metres up. Did we chicken out of this activity? A hundred percent. But we did enjoy watching others tackle the task. If you have the guts to take this one on, rest assured that you’ll be safely harnessed to the swing, and you’ll have the encouragement of the enthusiastic staff to shave off those nerves.
Split Rock Summit

Rock climbing? Bouldering? Move aside! The Split Rock Summit ($10) is the ultimate challenge that’s basically a giant boulder that sits within Lemur Land. The boulder is split into two, with a smaller boulder wedged in between the crack–it definitely reminded us of the famous Kjeragbolten in Norway. You can climb up the boulder via a relatively easy high-elements course, before auto-belaying down some 10 metres. We make it sound simple here, but can attest that it is not exactly easy to willingly kick yourself off a giant rock. Once you’re done with raising your BPM, be sure to snap lots of photos at the beautiful little walkway between the Split Rock!
Pro tip: Definitely look down! The view from the top of the rock is stunning! However, we do recommend really assessing your fear of heights before attempting this one. We hear that queues may form while climbing up the rock, if someone may have trouble doing the jump down!
Treetop Traverse

The Treetop Traverse ($10) was also one of our favourite experiences of the day. It’s a high elements course where you’ll scale suspended nets and bridges and surrounded by the lush greenery of the canopy around you. It goes pretty high up, and you can expect a little physical exertion as you balance yourself and make your way through the ropes. But thanks to the secure harness and pace of this course, we didn’t find this one particularly scary.
Pro tip: If you’re bringing your phone along for pics, the staff will provide cases with straps for you! We recommend taking your time with this one; the course spans just 125 metres long, and we finished it pretty quickly.
Playgrounds at Rainforest Wild Adventure East
If you’re heading over with younger kids, fret not–they won’t be left out of the fun! There are three playgrounds at this zone, each within convenient access to vending machines, restrooms and water stations.
Playground near the Canopy Glider

Just near the entrance of the Canopy Glider, you’ll spot two huge tube slides that bring you to the ground level from a shaded pavilion. There are also a couple of climbing nets so kids can haul themselves right back up again to go for round two, three, four and more.
Playground near the Ravine Swing

This one’s a cute little slide with a little bit of climbing and a swing for younger kids–and it’s in the shape of a fallen tree! Fair warning: there’s an ice-cream vending machine right here, so be prepared that the kids may ask for a cool treat!
Playground at Lemur Land

The third play area is right at Lemur Land, and it pretty much comprises a bunch of trampolines–just in case your kid hasn’t exerted enough energy! It’s a nice little spot for restless little legs to let loose.
Food at Rainforest Wild Adventure East

Dealing with hungry tummies? There are two restaurants at Rainforest Wild Adventure East. You’ll find the first one right at the entrance, where you can fuel up on easy bites such as fresh fruits and cold drinks. There’s also the Rangers Retreat Restaurant with a menu inspired by African fare. There’s a hidden play area for kids here, too! If you just need a quick pick-me-up, there are plenty of drinks and ice cream vending machines throughout the East zone. Otherwise, you have access to a myriad of restaurants at the public area of Mandai Wildlife EAST.
Guide to Rainforest Wild Adventure West (formerly Rainforest Wild Asia)

When Rainforest Wild West (formerly called Rainforest Wild Asia) opened back in 2025, it set the bar as arguably the most unique wildlife park at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Unlike its predecessors, this park turned heads for incorporating adventure experiences surrounded by wildlife and a landscape built to emulate the lush rainforests around Asia.
Rainforest Wild West came to impress (and delivered!) with eight zones all interconnected via a stroller-friendly elevated walkway and signature forest treks. The latter was certainly the most unique feature of the park layout, where you get to “hike” through beginner-friendly, well-manicured trails within the comfort of the park. And even though it’s not hard to forget that these trails are man-made, it still makes for a fun outdoor experience with fallen logs, stepping stones, suspension bridges and dramatic rocky landscapes. And of course, the ability to spot some of the park’s wildlife in between (although many reviews agree that it’s pretty challenging to spot all the animals here, due to the thick greenery and spacious enclosures).

Then you have your Adventure+ experiences–the original four experiences that let you scale walls, crawl through caves and free fall off a 20-metre-high platform! These Adventure+ experiences come at an additional cost and most have height restrictions. Covered shoes are also required, so come prepared.
Highlight zones & adventure experiences at Rainforest Wild Adventure West
Entrance Gorge

Enter Rainforest Wild Adventure West and you’ll be greeted by the dramatic sight of the Entrance Gorge and its stunning waterfall. And boy, does it give you a great first impression of the park. Inside the pond you’ll be able to spot the Southern river terrapin and Asian arowanas. From here, you can head up a short flight of rocky steps to the first Forest Trek trail, or follow the elevated walkway towards The Karsts.
The Karsts & Rock Wall Climb

Just when you thought the Entrance Gorge was dramatic, you’ll come across The Karsts. Modelled to emulate stunning limestone formations, this zone doubles as both the habitat of the park’s Francois’ langurs and the highlight Rock Wall Climb You’ll spot the langurs chilling on an island surrounded by bright blue water. You’ll also likely spot visitors scaling The Karsts itself! The Rock Wall Climb ($10, 1.35m height limit) is a guided high elements course that takes you through ladders and suspended bridges.
Pro tip: Take your time to explore this area as there are routes that bring you on both the elevated walkway and ground-level trails. You’ll get to see the Karsts (and adorable langurs) from different viewpoints, and we can attest that it’s worth it!
Forest Floor

Follow the main walking trail from The Karsts and you’ll soon find yourself strolling through the Forest Floor. This section is pretty quiet compared to the other areas as it mostly comprises the elevated walkway surrounded by lush greenery. Keep your eyes peeled for the Axis deer and Hog deer, that usually hang together in a group. We like to think of this area as a sensory reset particularly for the little ones, giving them a little quiet before the excitement of the next zone.
Rock Cascade & Canopy Jump

One word: Tigers! This part’s also a crowd fave for the majestic felines as well as the vantage point overlooking dramatic rocky landscape with waterfalls and rivers. This area is also home to the Red Dholes (Asiatic wild dogs) and other highlights such as the Babirusa. Just a little distance from here is the Canopy Jump ($10, 1.35 height limit), where you can experience free falling from a 13-metre or 20-metre-high platform!
The Canopy

The Canopy is also another clear favourite, as it allows you to walk through the habitat of the beautiful red-shanked douc langurs, the Javan langurs and the siamangs (gibbons). You’ll also find the Langur Walking Nets here (no additional charges required), which is a huge hit with the kiddos.
Pro tip: The primates at The Canopy aren’t particularly shy, and we’ve spotted them walking, playing and even fighting right within arms reach of the visitors. It’s important to ensure the kids don’t get too close to them, and take care not to spook them! The staff may also limit the number of people inside, so be prepared to wait to enter if you’re there during peak times.
Watering Hole & AIA Vitality Bounce

Your second-last stop is the Watering Hole, another serene area where you can spot Malayan tapirs and sun bears, as well as the huge Siamese crocodile basking in the water. This area gives you access to the AIA Vitality Bounce ($10, 0.9m height limit), an open play zone that’s suspended 3-metres to 7-metres above the ground.
The Cavern & Cavern Crawl

The final zone of Rainforest Wild Adventure West, the Cavern is inspired by the stunning caves of Gunung Mulu National Park in Borneo. It’s the perfect setting to see some rare cave-dwellers in the flesh, including the Madagascar hissing cockroach, blind cave fish and cave racers (yep, these are snakes). The highlight here is definitely the photo op at the end of The Cavern–there are staff stationed there to help you get those winning IG-worthy snaps! The Cavern Crawl ($10) Adventure+ activity is also located here and kids below 1.15m can take part with an accompanying adult, provided they can fit securely into the provided helmet.
Pro tip: Proceed with caution if you are afraid of snakes, as you may feel uneasy at the fact there is only a half-glass barrier separating the (harmless) snakes from visitors. You’ll also likely spot the snakes coiled up and slithering right on the cave walls, right at eye level, and there are so many of them! The Cavern Crawl experience also brings you through dark and tight spaces, so it may not be the most suitable for very young children.
Food at Rainforest Wild Adventure West

Rainforest Wild Adventure West is extensive, and so you’ll be glad to know that there are several spots where you can fuel up for the day. There’s a refreshment stall called The Outpost just past The Karsts where you can get snacks like sandwiches, crisps, ice cream and cold drinks. Venture further in and you’ll find the Sentinel Foodhall, with an array of cuisines, including vegetarian options, cafeteria-style. Rainforest Wild Adventure West is also home to the Cavern Restaurant which gives you the experience of decadent dining within a cave!
