The Charlotte Marn School of Dance teaches Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary dance with a strong focus on building core strength and developing muscles that help posture. And did you know, the Charlotte Marn School of Dance is the first and only dance school in Singapore to offer the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum (NTC) Examinations?

The American Ballet Theatre National Curriculum at Charlotte Marn School of Dance

With principal ballerinas such as Misty Copeland and Isabella Boylston, the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) is one of the most innovative and progressive ballet companies in the industry today. The curriculum trains dance students to use their bodies correctly by focusing on kinetics, coordination, anatomy, and proper body alignment and provides them with a rich knowledge of classical ballet technique and the ability to adapt to all styles and techniques of dance.

Strengthen your child’s body and improve posture through dance

Charlotte Marn started The Charlotte Marn School of Dance (CMSD) with the aim to teach children how to correctly activate parts of their body during dance to reduce the risk of injury. This keen attention to anatomy translates to students building a strong core with better posture and also protects dancers against injury. Did you know that many children, some as young as 9 years old, tend to acquire hip, ankle, knee and back injuries caused by poor training and a lack of good foundation?

A good dance practice is more than fancy moves and tricks. CMSD’s instructors are knowledgeable in dance science and will ensure good technique so that your child’s body is kept safe and healthy. That way, they can stay injury-free, get stronger and dance longer! CMSD focuses on skill progression, with a focus on training the correct muscle groups while helping kids learn to listen to their bodies – an essential life skill to have even if they don’t pursue dance professionally in the future!

CMSD’s teachers draw on their background of professional dancing while using evidence-based exercises from Pilates and other mindful dance conditioning techniques. Each student dancer will strengthen and condition their form which is especially important in young children, who are going through their most crucial period of muscle growth and development.
