Walking trails at Tampines Eco Green

All the walking trails at Tampines Eco Green are interconnected and easy to follow, with each offering something different to spot along the way. However, most of the trails are grass paths that get muddy after it rains, so remember to wear covered shoes! Note that pets, strollers, and bicycles are not allowed on the trails, so if you’ve got young kids, be prepared to carry them if they get tired along the way!
Diversity Trail: Freshwater pond, terrapins and dragonflies

Stretching 1.2 kilometres, the Diversity Trail is the longest of the three. It offers plenty of opportunities to spot various birds, insects and plant species along the way.
As you follow the trail, you’ll notice standing dead trees, or snags, just off the footpath. These serve as nesting and feeding sites for birds such as woodpeckers and baya weavers. We love that this trail also has bird hides we can hide behind so we can quietly observe the birds without alarming them!
The trail continues along a Manila grass-covered footpath that leads to a freshwater pond, where you can look out for red-eared terrapins basking in the water. Kids can also enjoy some old-school fun chasing dragonflies like the common parasol and blue dasher.
Marsh Trail: Vegetated swales, spider lilies & mangrove ferns

The Marsh Trail is the park’s shortest at 0.8 kilometres, making it an easy and enjoyable nature trail for families with younger kids. Along the way, you’ll come across scenic vegetated swales, or gently sloped channels covered with plants, that help treat stormwater runoff. For curious kiddos who want to learn more about this natural filter, they can read one of the multiple infographics posted along the trail! Other highlights on this trail are the spider lilies and mangrove ferns, which can grow up to 2 metres tall.

This trail is a favourite for escaping Singapore’s heat on your walk. The Forest Trail’s tall trees and leafy canopy create a shady, cool environment, allowing kids to explore comfortably without overheating. Walking the trail also provides a fun way to spot butterflies like the Blue Pansy and Common Grass Yellow with your little ones while getting your daily steps in.
