Dover Court International School now offers a two-year vocational course, the Pearson BTEC International Diploma in Business for older students
Dover Court International School (DCIS) is an international school for children aged 3-18 years that offers the English National Curriculum leading to IGCSEs. DCIS has always been known for its inclusive community where each individual’s skills and interests are nurtured to bring out their best. Now older students at Dover Court International School will have an alternative option to the International Baccalaureate programme (IB) with the vocational Pearson BTEC International Diploma in Business. Currently, BTEC International Level 1 and 2 is offered at DCIS with plans to offer Level 3 from August 2021.
Who would be suited for the vocational course BTEC at Dover Court International School?
The Pearson BTEC qualifications are vocational courses that are thoughtfully designed and delivered to prepare students for either their first step in their career or for further study. Level 1 of the BTEC course is equivalent to International GCSEs, and is designed to develop the skills and knowledge that students will need to succeed in today’s dynamic work environment.
Two-year Vocational Course at Dover Court International School
The BTEC is a two-year, full-time vocational course available for students aged 14-19 years old. The vocational course is assessed through coursework over the two-year duration. Students will be assessed on traditional report writing and creative projects such as leaflets, posters and filmed contextual role plays. The course is designed to immerse students in a range of vocational scenarios, equipping them with vital knowledge and experiences for the future.
